Moto Guzzi is expected to introduce a new engine concept at the upcoming 2017 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy next month. With the Italian motorcycle manufacturer's air-cooled engines not meeting Euro IV emission norms, the new engine is expected to be used in future Moto Guzzi bikes. The engine which will be showcased at EICMA though, will still be a concept and a production version model based on the new engine will still take some time. So far, there are no further details on the new engine, but expect more details when the EICMA show kicks off in early November.
According to Davide Zanolini, Piaggion Executive Vice President for Marketing and Communication, the new engine will be a "radical evolution" compared to the present V7, V9 and V1400 units. Reports indicate that Moto Guzzi is expected to incorporate liquid-cooling. Whether new motorcycle models are also planned around this engine is still a mystery, although we would expect Moto Guzzi to showcase some concept motorcycles at the EICMA show as well.

Moto Guzzi was established in 1921 and boasts of being the oldest European motorcycle manufacturer in continuous production. Since 2004, Moto Guzzi has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Piaggio. Moto Guzzi bikes are known for their unique air-cooled, 90-degree v-twin engines with a longitudinal crankshaft orientation. In India, Moto Guzzi is marketed and sold by Piaggio under the distribution network and outlets called Motoplex. Moto Guzzi introduced three models last year in India - the V9 Bobber, V9 Roamer and the MGX-21 cruiser.
