Honda Cars India has officially announced to launch the new-generation Honda Jazz in July 2015. The announcement came in the form of a teaser image of the car, posted on the company's social handles, saying that the all new Jazz is coming in July.
Honda Cars India has announced to launch the new-generation Honda Jazz on July 8, 2015. Expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 5 lakh - Rs. 8 lakh, the Jazz will take on the likes of Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Swift and others in the league.
The Jazz, that failed to create any buzz in the market in its previous avatar, will now have a completely new design and a diesel powertrain. The vehicle is based on the same platform on which the new-generation City is built.
The engine options to be on offer are - 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC. Both the engines power the Amaze as well. While the petrol mill will come with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed CVT automatic gearbox, the diesel mill is likely to get a 6-speed manual transmission.
Though the company uses the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine in its other cars as well, it returns 27.3km/l with the Jazz. And to achieve the higher fuel-efficiency, Honda has given it 8 per cent taller gear ratios than the City and other cars using the same engine.
