Mahindra has announced that the new-generation Mahindra Scorpio will be launched in the last week of June, possibly on June 27, 2022. According to an official “Block Your Date”, Mahindra will reveal the new Scorpio and announce the prices between June 27-29, 2022. Dubbed as the “Big Daddy Of SUVs”, the new Mahindra Scorpio is designed by the Mahindra India Design Studio (M.I.D.S) in Mumbai and engineered at the facilities of Mahindra Research Valley (M.R.V.) near Chennai. Once launched, the new Mahindra Scorpio will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Tata Harrier in India.

The new Mahindra Scorpio will naturally be larger in proportions than the outgoing model and is built on its urban and muscular looks. The interior is expected to be clothed with premium materials and decked to the gills with latest features to make it one of the most advanced cars in the compact SUV segment. We also expect the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio to boast a wholly new layout and be laden with modern creature comforts. A few teaser videos released by the company reveals the car partially while the spy shots of the camouflaged car hints at a butch look which is contemporary than before.

However, it will retain the boxy silhouette with the edges smoothed out to resemble tab bit like the Mahindra XUV700. The rising rear haunch, large window frame, and the new Mahindra logo are a few of the details that were revealed in the teaser video. It would also feature LED twin-pod projector headlights, LED fog lights, and possibly 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior of the new Mahindra Scorpio will also be revamped for 2022, and would now come with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a sporty-looking instrument cluster with a coloured central MID. Also expect the new Mahindra Scorpio to receive wireless charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone auto climate control, auto-dimming inner rear-view mirror, power-adjustable driver's seats, 360-degree camera view, a large panoramic sunroof and the Adrenox Connected car tech among others.

Under the hood, expect the new Mahindra Scorpio to be equipped with the same powertrain options of the Mahindra XUV700. And so, it would get the new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, diesel engine. Both engines are expected to be offered with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options, with the diesel, also set to get a four-wheel-drive system.
