What do we think about the car you ask? We'll for me it's absolutely gorgeous. It gets a nose which shouts out E-Class and the taut lines on the side and the bonnet give it a bit of a muscular appeal. It's styled elegantly and the rear is just as pleasing as the front. The rear follows the minimalistic design as the C- and S-Class coupes, with horizontal, LED tail lamps and yes these do remind you of the Mercedes-AMG GT, which in turn remind you of the Porsche 928.

You are reminded of the S-Class because of the B-pillar-less side window design and there's a small bit of fixed glass just before the C-pillar which reminds you of the previous generation of the E-Class Coupe. It's modern and well-designed too, plus a mix of old and new which blends well aesthetically.
This goes for the cabin as well. There's a huge digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen up front at the centre and the plush seats with the fine leather trim on every surface ups the luxury quotient of the car. The sedan's 12.3-inch central COMAND screen is standard on the two-door, and there's a second 12.3-inch digital instrument-cluster display which is offered as an option.
The E-Class Coupe comes loaded with technology
There's Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on models equipped with navigation, and there's a wireless inductive charging pad for compatible smartphones. Automatic emergency braking forms part of standard equipment, while the more advanced Drive Pilot semi-autonomous system is also made available on the car. Of course one more thing, there are 64 ambient lighting colours inside, yes sixty four!
The E-Class Coupe will come with a range of petrol and diesel powertrains all of which are equipped with ECO start/stop and comply with the Euro 6 emissions standard. When launched, there will be an initial choice between one diesel and three petrol engines with a range of outputs from 181 bhp to 328 bhp. Further engine variants and 4MATIC versions will follow.

The E-Class Coupe will get the 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine from the new family of Mercedes-Benz engines which we've already seen on the E-Class saloon. The diesel engine produces 191 bhp. In addition, the four-cylinder with single-stage turbocharger and variable turbine geometry gets a cylinder head and the crankcase which are made of aluminium, and so it's light. All the models will be equipped as standard with the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission, which allows fast gearshifts along with lower engine speeds.`

Of course, a host of AMG variants are no doubt on the way. E43 and E63 / E63 S variants are basically a given. We'll have more information on these cars soon.
