The Porsche 718 twins are already available in India in their standard forms. The price for the Boxster is Rs 85.53 lakh while price for the Cayman is Rs 81.63 lakh. There is a more powerful version of the car, the S that has not been offered in India so far and now Porsche has unleashed an even quicker and even more powerful variant for the 718 family, the range topping GTS. The Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster GTS now get an added 15 bhp over the S, taking the total power output to 365 bhp. This is a 35 bhp jump over the last generation car which used to be a naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine as compared to the new car that gets a turbocharged 4-cylinder motor.

(Porsche 718 Cayman GTS)
The engine is still a 2.5-litre motor, the torque on which is now uprated to make 430 Nm. The engine position in the Boxster and Cayman 718 GTS is mid mounted and while international models will get a 6-speed manual option, India will only get the PDK automatic gearbox. The 0-100 kmph time has dropped down to just 3.9 seconds with the sport chrono pack and on to a top speed of 290 kmph! The Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS also get torque vectoring, a mechanical limited slip differential and the Porsche Active Suspension Management system that lowers the ride height for the GTS by 10 mm.

Visually, the 718 GTS gets some slight updates in the bumpers with the sport pack and a set of black 20-inch alloy wheels. As with all GTS models, the headlights and tail lamps get a special black tint to them and the car also gets GTS logos on the doors that are in black. On the inside, the Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster GTS gets standard upgrades like sports seats, alcantara inserts and the standard Porsche Track Precession App that lets the driver record lap times and videos directly onto the smartphone.
