Triumph Motorcycles will be launching an all-new Triumph Street Triple on January 10, 2017, a teaser video posted by Triumph Motorcycles has revealed. Although the video doesn't specifically mention the upcoming bike as the 2017 Triumph Street Triple, the bike in the teaser video has the tell-tale headlights like the ones on the current Street Triple and Speed Triple.
According to the teaser video, the new bike will set "a new benchmark in power, weight, handling and looks" and will be launched simultaneously in London and Miami on January 10, 2017. We had reported sometime back that a new Street Triple is in the offing, and expected to launch in early 2017, and now it seems that will be reality. Triumph has not responded to queries about an India launch date for the 2017 Street Triple, but we expect it to be launched right after the Bonneville Bobber is launched, the first launch for Triumph Motorcycles India in 2017.

The new Street Triple will be called the Street Triple 800 and is expected to get an all-new engine with a displacement bump to 765cc. It will get ride-by-wire, updated electronics, slipper clutch and a full-colour TFT screen. Other expected updates to the 2017 Triumph Street Triple include updated Brembo brakes, and a new swingarm and upgraded chassis.
Earlier this year, Triumph had carried out a market research on the Street Triple and reports suggested that there could be as many as four variants in the updated 2017 Triumph Street Triple. The top spec 'RT' and 'RS' variants making around 125bhp and getting hi-quality cycle parts, including Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension. The base version is expected to make around 110bhp and a mid-variant 'R' version with Showa suspension and Nissin brakes is expected to make around 115bhp.

The new Street Triple was spotted testing in Spain earlier this year, and the new engine is also expected to conform to Euro4 emission regulations, at the same time retaining its sporty, aggressive character that made the Street Triple such a fun-to-ride sport naked and endeared to motorcycle enthusiasts across the world.
Triumph India has already expanded its modern classic range launching four new models in 2016 - the Street Twin, Bonneville T100, Bonneville T120 and the Thruxton R. The first launch for Triumph India in 2017 will be the Bonneville Bobber followed by an updated Roadster range with the new Street Triple.
