Audi has been working the generation upgrades for its entire line up and while last year we saw the new-gen models of the Q5 SUV and the A8 sedan. This year, however, we are expecting the next-gen Audi Q3 to make its global debut, possibly towards the end of 2018. Recently a prototype of new-gen Audi Q3 was spotted undergoing cold weather testing and while most of the car was heavily camouflaged, we were able to notice the stylish LED taillamps and LED headlamps, which look like they are final production units.

Globally, the Audi Q2 has already established itself as the entry-level SUV from the Ingolstadt-based carmaker so Audi needs to promote the Q3 to keep things relevant. And this is something we had mentioned even last year when the Q3 prototype was first spotted. This is why you'll notice that the next-gen Audi Q3 has slightly grown in dimensions, which have been possible thanks to the company's MQB platform. Similarly, the new Q3 will also see upgrades in the styling and features department.

Up front, the test mule of the new Audi Q3 comes with new sharper-looking all-LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, Audi's signature single-frame grille, and a new front bumper with some styling air intakes. When seen from the sides, the Q3 test mule looks noticeably taller than the outgoing model, which could translate to better headroom, and the SUV also appears to be slightly longer in overall length. We also see a new set of alloys on the car, but these could be temporary ones.
Engine details and other technical specifications are still unknown, but the new Audi Q3 will offer a range of three- and four-cylinder turbocharged engines. This included the new 150 bhp 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine that currently does duty in the Audi A4.
