The next-gen Hyundai Verna has been spotted on Indian roads for the first time. The testmule was caught on camera testing somewhere in South India wearing heavy camouflage. The images, blurry as they are reveal little detail as to the car's design though, a brief glimpse of the cabin does reveal some detailing such as a centre touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. The all-new model is expected to make its global debut later this year and could make it to India in the future.
The camouflaged images of the rear reveal little detail though the car appears to have a wider stance and high-set boot lid with the C-pillar's angle almost giving it a fastback-like design. In Hyundai's international line-up the new Elantra features a similar rear design with an almost coupe-like profile ending on a high-set boot-lid.
Images of the test mule on international roads give a clearer look at some of the design. The sedan seems to have a four-door coupe-like look with a low set nose, rising window line and swept-back C-pillar ending on a high-set tail. The camouflage though hides away much of the defining body lines of the sedan. A closer look at the front reveals a wide grille stretching to the base of the bumper.

Overall the new sedan is expected to follow Hyundai's latest design language also seen on the new Elantra and Tucson on sale in global markets.
The images of the test mule in India also give a brief peek at the interior though little can be made out aside from a touchscreen and instrument cluster. However, one can expect Hyundai to offer a lengthy list of features on the new car as it does on the current-gen model.
Engine details are not yet known though we could expect Hyundai to carry forward the current set of engines to the new model. Mild hybrid tech could also be introduced to make the units more efficient and help the company meet the upcoming CAFÉ norms.
