Following up to the recently leaked image of the next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift, the brochure of the sporty hatchback have made its way online, revealing a host of new details. Leaked in Japan, the brochure lists a host of details about the 2017 Suzuki Swift ahead of its official global premiere at the Geneva Motor Show next year. The leaked images reveal complete bodywork on the compact car, along with the rear profile, interior as well as powertrain options.

The new brochure reveals the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift’s new design language that gets more upmarket styling than the outgoing model. The side profile has a strong resemblance to the current model, courtesy of the same glasshouse design, while the rear gets a curvaceous profile with LED tail lights and a lip spoiler integrated into the boot lid. While we know the Swift shares its underpinnings with the new Baleno, the rear profile also has a striking resemblance to the latter.
You also get a clear view of the interior on the new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift that closely resemble the images that leaked earlier this year. The dashboard is clutter free unit with a flat-bottom steering multi-function wheel, twin-pod instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, brushed aluminium finish and a lot more. The feature list will include electrically adjustable ORVMs, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity, auto climate control and a host of tech.

The brochure details no less than six variants for the Japanese market comprising the Hybrid RS, RSt, RS, Hybrid ML, XL and XG. Internationally, the Swift Sport variant will also be available sporting a higher power output. In India though, the next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will continue with the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines that are seen on the outgoing version, while the 1.0-litre BoosterJet is likely to join the line-up later in the timeline. Transmission options will include the 5-speed manual and possibly an AMT unit for India. Overseas though, a 6-speed autobox and CVT unit will be available.
The 2017 Swift will be available in 8 colours
More details on the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift are expected to unravel in the following weeks. The model has always been a top seller for the automaker in India as well as globally and is expect to sustain the numbers with the new generation as well. Mechanically too, the Swift will be lighter than its predecessor than to the lighter chassis, and that will help improve performance by a considerable margin on the hatchback. While global markets will get the Swift hatchback first, it is expected that India will get the Swift based DZire subcompact sedan first and could go on sale this year.
