Norton Motorcycles has released the first images and details of the brand's re-designed flagship superbike. The new Norton V4SV has been described as "all-new and re-engineered" and retains largely the same design as the Norton V4SS it replaces, as is the same 1,200 cc, 72-degree V4 engine, but claimed power has dropped from around 200 bhp to 185 bhp on the V4SV. Torque is down too, from a claimed 130 Nm to 125 Nm. The bike retains the same polished twin-spar aluminium frame, and features an adjustable rake angle, steering offset and swingarm pivot.

The Norton V4SV uses Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes, and carbon fibre bodywork, with an aluminium twin-spar frame
Components are top-notch as before, featuring Brembo monobloc calipers with 330 mm discs, Ohlins suspension and carbon fibre bodywork. Dry weight is now quoted at 193 kg, up from 179 kg of the V4SS. The Norton V4SV comes with keyless ignition, a 6-inch TFT dash with a rear-facing camera, and a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), which powers the three riding modes, and up/down quickshifter, and LED lighting, but no cornering ABS.

The Norton V4SV Carbon trim features carbon fibre wheels from BST
The Norton V4SV will be available in two trims, the Manx silver with red and black pinstriping and red aluminium wheels, and a Carbon trim. On the lower spec "Manx" model, the Norton V4SV gets aluminium OZ wheels, while the "Carbon" version gets carbon fibre wheels from BST. Both variants get mechanically adjustable Ohlins suspension, with NIX30 forks, and a TTXGP shock.

So far, there's no word on availability, but Norton doesn't have any presence yet in India, after TVS acquired the company in 2020, so availability in India is uncertain. The Norton V4SV is expected to be priced similarly as the V4SS it replaces, with a 44,000 GBP (around Rs. 45 lakh) price tag. In any case, the Norton V4SV is likely to be an expensive superbike, and Norton will first try to meet orders of customers who have already put in advance amounts for the V4SS.
