The Nissan Terrano was introduced in the Indian market in 2013 and it was essentially a rebadged version of Renault's Duster. It was one of the first compact SUVs that popularised the segment in India. However, earlier in 2019, Nissan India replaced it with the new Kicks SUV and the Terrano was discontinued. However, you can still find the SUV in the used car space, priced from Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh. However, before you start looking for one, here are some pros and cons you must consider first.

The Nissan Terrano used to come in both petrol and diesel engine options, however, the latter would be a better choice. In fact, the 1.5-litre diesel engine was offered in two power output options - 84 bhp and 108 bhp. It was one of the nicer diesel engines.
The cabin space inside the Terrano was large enough for five adults, and the SUV offered a commanding seating position. The SUV also offered a large boot capacity of 480-litre.
The Terrano's cabin is spacious but it looks dated and the creature comforts are also quite basic.
Cons
The Terrano has not been on sale in India for over four years now, and while right now after sales and parts availability might not be an issue, in the long run, it could be a problem. So, keep that in mind.
Save for some minor facelift, the Terrano never received an update in India, so both the exterior and interior of the SUV are quite dated. The creature comforts are also limited to basic features.
The naturally aspirated petrol motor of the Terrano was not the best one in its segment. The engine felt a bit underpowered, and the real-world fuel efficiency was also not the best. So, it's better to look for the diesel version.
