Back in July, we had told you that Porsche India will be launching the Cayenne Coupe SUV in the fourth quarter of this year. Confirming our report, the company has officially announced the launch date for the 2019 Porsche Cayenne Coupe, which will go on sale in India on December 13, 2019. The coupe SUV made its global debut early this year in March, and in just nine months the car is ready to reach our shores. Likely to be targeted toward self-driving customers, the upcoming Cayenne Coupe will be a tad more expensive compared to the regular SUV, which is currently priced at Rs. 1.19 crore to 1.92 crore (ex-showroom).
According to the company's India website, like its SUV counterpart, the coupe version will also come on three variants - Cayenne Coupe, Cayenne Turbo Coupe, Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe. Visually, the Porsche Cayenne Coupe comes with sharper lines with a unique rear section, an adaptive rear spoiler, a rear bench with the characteristics of two individual seats. The new model also offers two different roof concepts, which includes a panoramic fixed glass roof fitted as standard and an optional carbon roof. To give it that sharper silhouette, Porsche has lowered the roof by 20 mm and made the front windscreen and A-pillar are shallower, accentuating the sloping roofline. The coupe SUV also gets Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) where the spoiler extends by 135 mm at speeds of 90 kmph and up, increasing the contact pressure on the rear axle, while PAA simultaneously enhances efficiency.
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe is powered by a 3-litre V6 engine while the more powerful Coupe Turbo gets a 4-litre V8 engine.
The cabin is largely identical to regular Cayenne, featuring a wide touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Porsche connect app which supports Apple car play and Android Auto. The central console sports haptic switches helping the driver to focus on the road while driving. The instrument cluster along with a central analogue tachometer gets two full-HD displays on the sides through which navigation and several data like real-time G-Force, tyre pressure and fuel economy can be checked.

Under the hood of the Cayenne Coupe will be two high-performance engines. It will come with a 3-litre 6-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 335 bhp and maximum torque of 450 Nm. The Sport Chrono Package fitted in the car achieves the standard sprint from 0-100 kmph in 6 seconds, with this figure dropping to 5.9 seconds with the optional lightweight sports packages. The vehicle's top speed is 243 kmph. The top-of-the-range Cayenne Turbo Coupe goes to the starting line with a 4.0-litre V8 engine with twin-turbocharging 542 bhp, and a maximum torque of 770 Nm. The Cayenne Turbo Coupe accelerates from a standing start to 100 kmph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 286 kmph.
