Further expanding its line-up in the country, Porsche India has confirmed that it will launch the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid soon. The information was shared with carandbike.com on the sidelines of the launch of the new-generation Panamera Turbo, which has been priced at Rs. 1.96 crore. As for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, Porsche has said the bookings will start in next few weeks along with the price announcement but deliveries for the car will start only by early 2018, which, if you ask us, is quite a long gap.
Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is a Plug-in
Now, under the hood, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid uses the same new 541 bhp, 4.0 litre, V8 petrol engine that does duty on the Panamera Turbo. But the V8 in the hybrid is aided by a 134 bhp electric motor, which brings the total power output to 671 bhp while developing a cumulative torque of 850 Nm. The powertrain is mated to the same eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The additional power and torque allow the car do a 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.4 s with the help of the Sport Chrono Package.
Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid gets green calipers and badging
Like the standard Panamera Turbo, the hybrid model will also come in an extended wheelbase format - the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive. In terms of design and dimensions, both the variants will remain identical to their petrol-powered counterparts apart for new styling bits that pronounce the cars' hybrid nature. For instance, the red brake calipers on the Panamera Turbo have been replaced with a neon green one and there is the 'E-Hybrid' badging on both sides on the door also highlighted in green.

The rest of the design and styling remain pretty much the same as you get the same sloping bonnet with two subtle racing strip-like character lines, new 4-point LED headlamp cluster, revised front bumper that houses the new massive central air dam and large air intakes. The rear gets the same wraparound LED taillamps with the connection 3D element flanked by the retractable split spoiler which has become somewhat a signature feature of the new-generation Panameras. The cabin layout and design also remain unchanged the car offers the same luxury and comfort features as the Panamera Turbo.
