TVS Motor Company's flagship motorcycle is due to be launched in July this year and will be called the 'TVS Apache RR 310S'. According to the Indian government's 'Controller General of Patents Design and Trade Marks' website, the Hosur-based two wheeler giant has trademarked the 'Apache RR 310S' model name, which will be the name for the production-ready Akula 310. TVS has not officially confirmed the name of the bike.

The TVS Akula 310 Concept was first revealed at the 2016 Auto Expo and marks the company's most powerful and ambitious project yet. It will also be the brand's first full-faired offering and is expected to hit showrooms sometime in July this year. Recently, the production-ready Akula 310 was spotted tested on the dyno, and the model certainly remains true to the stunning concept seen last year.
The Apache range of motorcycles has been TVS Motor Company's sporty range of bikes for a long time now and completes 10 years in 2017. It was expected that the production-ready Akula will be called the 'Apache RTR 310', but the trademarked name doesn't stray too far either - Apache RR 310S.

The upcoming TVS Apache RR 310S has been developed with learnings from the manufacturer's racing division. The model shares its underpinnings with the upcoming BMW G 310 R but has been reportedly tuned for a completely different avatar. The bike will not only be more sport-oriented, but also more track focused. Going by the current Apache series, the 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor (same as the BMW's) is expected to make between 30-35 bhp of power.
The component list on the TVS Apache RR 310S includes USD front forks and a monoshock suspension setup at the rear; dual projector headlamps with LED DRLs and an all-digital instrument console. The full-faired bike will also sport clip-on handlebars, split seats and LED tail lights. Pirelli tyres could be offered too, while ABS is likely to be a standard feature.
The TVS Akula 310 Concept
Prices are expected to be just under Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom) and the TVS Apache RR 310S will be locking horns with the likes of the KTM RC 390, Honda CBR250R and a few twin-cylinder models like the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the upcoming Benelli Tornado 302. TVS could also introduce a one-make championship with the Apache RR 310S in the not too distant future, something it's been doing with its other offerings as well, and that is certainly something for enthusiasts should look forward to.
