US-based audio systems manufacturer Rockford Fosgate has introduced the new DSR1 audio processor system in India. The DSR1 is an 8-channel interactive signal processor and has been priced at Rs. 29,990. The system connects with the factory-fitted audio system on any car and amplifies the sound quality for a better acoustic experience. The plug-and-play system does not void warranty and can be connected with even complex audio connectivity systems that modern day cars are equipped with. Rockford showcased the DSR1 capabilities at an event in Mumbai along with its premium audio range including the Power series T,400X4ad and T500X18DCP amplifiers, T-1650-S 6.5-inch component speakers and multiple punch Series P3SD4-12 12-inch subwoofers.
The Rockford Fosgate DSR1 is a first-of-its-kind offering in India and replaces the factory amplifier, acting as a bridge between the factory-fitted audio components and the aftermarket amplifier and speakers in cars. This works most effectively in vehicles where swapping the factory unit is next to impossible. With OEMs providing state-of-the-art radio systems on their vehicles, the DSR1 emerges as an interesting tool to improve the sound quality without having to install more premium audio systems.

The Rockford Fosgate DSR1 will upgrade the audio quality of the factory-fitted system and can be discreetly fitted anywhere in the vehicle including the boot or under the seat, and does not occupy too much space either.
The DSR1 has been co-developed with ADS and combines a full-featured 3Sixty digital signal processor with a flashable iDatalink Maestro Module. The DSR1 can be customised to meet the customer's aural needs with a high or low level input or with a quick flash download to meet the vehicle firmware to avoid loss of equipment control and features. The Rockford Fosgate app on Android and iOS devices also offers control of the sound profile.
The Rockford Fosgate is a interesting product considering the customer gets to upgrade the audio quality on his/her respective vehicle without having to interfere too much with the factory unit. This avoids the fears to voiding company warranty or the electricals on the car, which happens to be the case in several botched jobs. Rockford says the DSR1 will also give dealers the confidence to work on premium vehicles from brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Jaguar and the likes given the simple nature of the equipment.
