Over the years Renault has launched several interesting products in India, and one of them was the Lodgy MPV. It was interesting because, in Europe, Renault is one of the largest MPV manufacturers, however, its only MPV for India, despite having decent initial success, failed to impress Indian buyers in the long run. The MPV was launched in 2015 and was discontinued in 2018, having a limited run of about 3 years. However, you can still find several options in the used car market, and depending on the condition you can get a used one for Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh. So, if you are looking for a spacious MPV on a budget, you can consider buying a pre-owned Renault Lodgy. Pros
The Renault Lodgy was all about space, and it offered that in ample. The MPV came in a three-row configuration, with a 7- and 8-seater layout option. The former came with captain seats in the second row. With all the seats upright, the Lodgy offered a boot space of 207 litres.
The Lodgy came with the same tried and tested 1.5-litre diesel engine that was offered with the Duster. And like the Duster, it was also offered in both 84 bhp and 108 bhp guises. Both versions are quite capable, however, our pick would be the latter.
The Renault Lodgy come with great driving dynamics and is quite fun to drive for an MPV. Like the Duster, this too offers good ride and handling. You also get cruise control.
While the cabin is certainly spacious, the quality of plastics used inside is not the best. The features list is also very basic.
Cons
The Lodgy has not been on sale in India for nearly four years now, and while right now parts availability might not be an issue, in the long run, it can become a problem worth considering.
