The new Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo trim will go on sale in India on May 9, 2022. The special variant of the compact SUV has been in the works for a while now, we had earlier told you that it will be launched in May, and now, we finally have a date as well. The new Kushaq Monte Carlo trim will sit at the top of the variant list, above the Style variant, and will thus come at a slightly higher premium. Now, the 2022 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo is expected to get both the 1.0 TSI and the 1.5 TSI engines, with both manual and automatic choices, so it would likely be priced between Rs. 18 lakh to Rs. 19.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Like all Monte Carlo editions of the past, the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo will also come in the signature red paint job with sporty black styling elements. This would include an all-black grille, smoked headlights and taillights, along with blacked-out skid plates, wing mirrors, roof rails and rear bumper. The new Kushaq Monte Carlo will get other colour options as well. The exterior of the SUV will also feature the 'Monte Carlo' badging and the car will come with a new set of black alloy wheels as well.

Like the exterior, the cabin too is expected to get the Monte Carlo treatment. While the design and layout will remain the same, the SUV will get a sporty black interior with red accents and new upholstery as well. Almost all features from the Style variant will be carried over to the Monte Carlo trim, however, the SUV is expected to get some additional features as well, including a fully digital instrument cluster, which we have already seen on the Slavia, and the Volkswagen Taigun.

Under the hood, the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo Edition will continue with the two petrol engines - a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TSI. While the former makes 113 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque, the latter belts out 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox along with optional 6-speed automatic transmission on the 1.0-Litre TSI, while the 1.5-litre TSI is offered with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
