Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo: What to Expect
Key Highlights
  • Kushaq Monte Carlo to be available with 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI.
  • Chrome trim replaced by gloss black inserts.
  • Gets a new digital instrument cluster.

It's been known for a while now that Skoda has been readying a new Kushaq Monte Carlo. Set to be the new range-topping variant to the Kushaq line-up the Monte Carlo gets several cosmetic differences over the standard Kushaq along with some additional features. As seen previously on the old Rapid Monte Carlo, the Kushaq Monte Carlo will get a sportier appearance with Skoda darkening or replacing much of the chrome trimmings from the standard Kushaq along with revising the interior upholstery as well. On the engine front, the Monte Carlo is set to come with both 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI petrol engines. We look at what you will get in the new Kushaq Monte Carlo.

Exterior

As mentioned previously, Skoda has done away with much of the chrome trim from the exterior. The chrome garnish on the grille now comes in a gloss black trim. The chrome bits on the front bumper has been deleted and even the faux skid plate is now finished in black in place of silver. Moving to the sides, the wing mirror caps too are now finished in black, as are the roof rails and the roof. Adding to the sporting looks will be new 17-inch alloy wheels – the same design as the old Octavia RS245.

Monte Carlo gets a black finished roof along with gloss black trims replacing the chrome detailing.

A similar darkened theme carries to the back as well with the chrome replaced by gloss black trim. Even the badging is now finished in black. Additionally, the 1.5 TSI variants will get red front brake calipers.

Interior

Inside, the door and dashboard trimmings are now red in place of black. The seats are now finished in new leatherette upholstery with red inserts while the front and rear-side headrests now feature Monte Carlo badging. The ambient lighting is now red which should make the cabin feel sportier, particularly at night. Skoda is also giving the Monte Carlo sportier aluminium pedals.

Features

Being based on the Style trim, the Monte Carlo will come with all the bells and whistles of the current fully loaded Kushaq. The biggest draw however will be the instrument cluster. Unlike the regular's Kushaq's analogue cluster, the Monte Carlo gets an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster already in use by the Taigun and Slavia. The screen gets red graphics in keeping in line with the red highlights and ambient lighting. Other features on offer are similar to those on the Kushaq Style such as ventilated front seats, a 10-inch touchscreen with connected car tech, a wireless phone charger, LED headlamps, a sunroof and more.

On the safety front expect the Monte Carlo to pack in six airbags, ABS, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat anchors and more.

The 1.5 TSI meanwhile develops a stronger 148 bhp and 250 Nm and will be available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Prices
