We have already told you that Skoda Auto India will be launching 4 new models before 2017 ends. The Czech manufacturer will be investing Rs. 100 crore on just improving the after sales service and experience. While the Kodiaq and the Octavia RS are premium ones that will be coming to India, there will be the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition, which has already been launched in Europe in the Fabia guise and the Octavia Black Edition which will be launched here as well.
(2017 Skoda Octavia Dynamic Chassis Control)Reports suggest that Skoda will introduce Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) in Octavia Black Edition and there will be a few cosmetic tweaks as well. As far as engines are concerned, there will be no changes and the Octavia Black Edition will continue to be powered by the current range of engines.
The much spoken about DCC gives the driver a more varied, intuitive experience behind the wheel of a Skoda Octavia. All of this will be done by tweaking the steering and suspension depending on the driving mode selected. At the push of a button, an electronic valve controls the flow of oil within the suspension adapting it to the style of driving and the mode as well. The steering becomes more responsive, the body roll is lessened and the braking too is sharpened.
As far as beautification is concerned, Skoda will give re-styled bumpers, blacked out lamps, a dark-themed interior, new touch-screen infotainment system and so on. There might also be an entertainment package for the rear occupants as well. Skoda hasn't given a concrete timeline as to when the Octavia Black Edition will be launched but it will be sometime next year. As a measure to make its car safer, Skoda will be offering airbags as standard equipment across all its models by the end of 2016.
