Skoda has hiked prices for the Slavia, from this month. Skoda's compact sedan was launched in late February with the 1.0 TSI engine with the more powerful 1.5 TSI variant being added to the line-up shortly after in March. The carmaker has now increased prices for its new sedan by up to Rs. 60,000 bringing an end to the introductory pricing period. Prices for the compact sedan now range from Rs. 10.99 lakh up to Rs. 18.39 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Starting with the prices, the base Ambition 1.0 TSI is now Rs. 30,000 dearer with the starting price now Rs 10.99 lakh as against the previous Rs. 10.69 lakh. Similarly, prices for the mid-spec Ambition variant too have been hiked by Rs 30,000 for both the manual and automatic variants while the top 1.0 TSI Style is now more expensive by Rs 40,000.

The more powerful Slavia 1.5 TSI, available solely in the fully-loaded Style variant, is now more expensive by a notable Rs 60,000.

Aside from the revised pricing, the Slavia has also received the previously talked about infotainment system change. Skoda has replaced the 10-inch touchscreen available from the Ambition variant up with a new 8.0-inch unit. The unit still supports Skoda's connected car features though it misses out on the older unit's wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality. It's only available as a wired connection.
Skoda has implemented the same update to the Kushaq compact SUV as well though the fully loaded Kushaq Monte Carlo does retain the original 10-inch touchscreen. The Kushaq's prices have not been affected.
The touchscreen replacement is related to the semi-conductor shortages faced by the entire auto industry. Skoda has previously said that the move to the 8.0-inch unit had been necessitated to keep deliveries on time and not face any undue delays.
