Skoda Auto India has revealed design sketches of the cabin of the upcoming compact sedan Slavia and immediately you see the design elements that it carries forward from some of the brand's other models. These include distinctive, round air vents, a horizontal decorative trim strip in a contrasting colour, and embossed wordmarks on the binnacle.
What's immediately visible to us is the 10-inch infotainment display and Skoda says that it is a touchscreen. Underneath the touchscreen display is a character line referencing the silhouette of the Skoda grille. It also serves as a hand-rest when operating the display. The width of the brand's signature, spacious cabin is emphasised by a horizontal, seemingly floating trim strip in a contrasting colour, which extends all the way into the distinctive, round air vents on the sides.
The Skoda Slavia looks very much like the Octavia when it comes to design

The Slavia will be available with turbocharged two petrol engines
The Slavia will come with two turbocharged petrol engines - the 1-litre and the 1.5-litre. The former makes 113 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque, and it comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic torque converter. The bigger 1.5-litre motor makes 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DSG automatic unit.
The new compact sedan is built on the company's localised MQB A0-IN platform, which also underpins the Skoda Kushaq compact SUV and Volkswagen's Taigun. The new Skoda Slavia will be the first sedan to be built on the modular architecture.
