Honda will first launch the BR-V compact SUV in Indonesia, which will then be followed by the car's introduction in India among other Asian markets.
The Indonesian model of the BR-V will employ the services of a 1.5-litre i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine that develops 118bhp and 145Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a new 6-speed manual and a CVT (continuously variable transmission). Compared to its design inspiration, the BR-V gets a comparatively more premium cabin. With that being said, the BR-V's interior looks similar to that of the City and gets a three-spoke steering wheel and a touchscreen entertainment system.
Other than the segment-leading cabin space, the list of Honda BR-V's features will include roof rails, new 16-inch alloy wheels, and A/C vents in the second row among other provisions. In terms of safety, the BR-V crossover will get airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), Hill Start Assist (HSA), etc..
As far as the Honda BR-V for the Indian market is concerned, the crossover will be offered with 2 engine options, namely, a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol, and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. One must note, the diesel motor is the same as the one that does duty on the Honda City and the Honda Mobilio MPV.

Expected to be launched in India in 2016, the Honda BR-V will take on cars such as the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, and Mahindra Scorpio.
