Suzuki has unveiled a special edition version of the Ignis mini-SUV - the Ignis Water Activity concept - and will exhibit it at the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon in January. There's been quite a bit of buzz about the Suzuki Ignis ever since it was showcased at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show in October, with reports claiming that Maruti Suzuki will launch the car in India in the second half of 2016.
The Suzuki Ignis Water Activity concept has a matte khaki green metallic paint job with orange trim and is equipped with black alloy wheels. The front grille and the front and side sills have an outline of orange, while the ORVMs are also in orange, giving the car a 'funky' look.
Metal scuff plates have been used on the front, rear, and the sides of the underbody, and the addition of decals to the exterior makes the car look quite sporty. In line with the 'Water Activity' theme, the mini-SUV has an orange canoe attached to the roof rails.
The interior is also done up in the same khaki green and orange theme.
It must be noted that the Ignis Water Activity concept is unlikely to ever go into production.
As far as the India-bound Maruti Suzuki Ignis is concerned, the mini-SUV is likely to be equipped with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.3-litre diesel unit that is used on the Swift and the all-new Baleno hatchbacks. Transmission duties are likely to be carried out by a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The Ignis might come in a 4x4 variant as well.

The Ignis measures 3,700mm in length, 1,660mm in width, 1,595mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,438mm, and is set to go up against the upcoming Mahindra KUV100.
