The Tata Tigor EV will be available in three variants - XM, XZ+ and XZ+ DT.

Based on the details listed on the official website, the electric car will be offered in three variants - XM, XZ+ and XZ+ DT. The new Tigor EV is targeted towards private car buyers, unlike the previous model available for only the government and fleet operators.

It is based on the Tigor facelift featuring similar styling elements. It comes with a new glossy black panel in place of the grille with a tri-arrow pattern and a blue slat underlining the entire setup. The EV also sports an EV badge upfront to differentiate it from the regular petrol version. It also gets projector headlights, new horizontal fog lamps with integrated LED DRLs, new alloy wheels with more blue accents, revised taillamps, and more.

The overall layout of the cabin is likely to remain the same apart from few styling upgrades, blue accent and better fit and finish. The cabin also comes equipped with premium features like a 7-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system, 4-speakers, a multi-functional steering wheel and more premium upholstery. Tata also offers its iRA connected car tech along with 30+ features including remote commands, intrusion alert, remote cooling, charging status, time to full charge and remote diagnostics. In terms of safety, the EV packs all the necessary safety bits like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, options rear parking camera, seat belt reminder and more.

The Tigor EV takes under 60 minutes to charge from 0 to 80% by using a fast charger

The electric subcompact sedan gets the same 26 kWh lithium-ion battery with a new Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor producing 55 kW (74 bhp) of power output along with 170 Nm of peak torque. The lithium-ion battery gets IP67 certification and an eight-year warranty. The carmaker says that the Tigor EV can achieve 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds.

As for charging, the EV can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in less than 60 minutes using a fast charger. It takes 8.5 hours to achieve the same by using a home charger. The automaker hasn't revealed the Tigor's range yet. The Nexon EV with Ziptron technology offers a range of 312 km on a single charge, and we expect a similar range on the new Tigor EV. The Tigor EV comes with an 8-year and 1.6 lakh km battery and motor warranty. In terms of pricing, we expect the prices to start around Rs. 10 lakh, going up to Rs. 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
