PUBG or Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is taking the world by storm and it's possibly the most popular game today. Available on PC, console and most popularly a mobile medium, the game is an online multiplayer first shooter which gives more importance to survival than the sheer number of kills. So what does Mahindra have anything to do with it? Well, in a rather surprising discovery as seen in the picture above, the tractors used in the game as a part of the general landscape in the popular map 'Erangel' actually has 'Mahindra 265 DI' markings on the side engine cover!

While this doesn't seem like an intentional plug from Mahindra and more like an oversight from the makers of PUBG when it comes to logos and brand removal, it is not surprising that the game developers used a Mahindra tractor to base their game model against.

Mahindra tractors are hugely popular in the United States and other countries outside India and are known for their rock solid reliability and affordable prices as compared to popular competition like Ford and John Deere.
NDTV carandbike has reached out to Mahindra for an official statement on the use of the tractor in the game and is waiting for a revert on the same.

Incidentally, this isn't the only Indian connection that the game has. While the mobile version of the game has very toned down graphics, the PC version is very highly detailed. Apart from a clear Mahindra logo and model number, the trailer that the tractor is towing also has the famous or infamous 'Horn OK Please' painted on it and the equally famous/infamous: 'Buri Najar Waley Tera Muh Kala', which essentially means 'You with the evil eye, may your face turn black'
Of course, apart from the tractors, Mahindra in North America also sells the Roxor off-road vehicle which is also used for farm and trail purposes. The Roxor has recently been in the news due to FCA filing a complaint in the International Trade Commission over the design of the Roxor looking too similar to that of the older CJ series Willys Jeep. Mahindra in a counter has taken FCA to court over a breach of contract terms over the usage of the grille design.
