Now, Toyota has been working on hydrogen fuel cell vehicles for a while now and the Toyota Mirai is one big example of fuel cell vehicle (FCV) from the company. In an attempt to demonstrate further possibilities for fuel cell vehicles, the company has introduced the Fine-Comfort Ride concept at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show. Toyota calls the Fine-Comfort Ride concept "a new form of the premium saloon," which employs a flexible layout unique to electric-powered vehicles and a large amount of available electric power using hydrogen as an energy source.

Employing a very futuristic design, the Fine-Comfort Ride concept is a well-designed four-seater vehicle that adopts a diamond-shaped cabin that narrows towards the rear. The vehicle is wider in all dimensions from the front to the centre, offering maximum space for the second-row seats and the shape also aids in improved aerodynamic performance. Thanks to its EV favouring layout, the car comes with wheels that are positioned at the very corner of the vehicle and also features in-wheel motors. This has allowed the designers to fully utilise the middle section for a body underside cover, thus achieving high running stability and quietness suited to a premium saloon.

The cabin, which is suitable for six people, comes with seats that allow for flexible adjustment according to posture. There also displays those allow the driver and passengers to freely access information, which allows the incumbents the flexibility to use the vehicle as an individual space or as a communication space for individuals. There is also Agent function and the touch display that are arranged around the driver and passenger seats for easy accessibility for all. The video release for the car also shows that the Fine-Comfort Ride Concept will have autonomous capabilities, but Toyota hasn't mentioned much about that.
Toyota Fine-Comfort Ride Concept comes with futuristic styling and features
Technical specifications haven't been revealed yet but Toyota says that with the hydrogen fuel cell as an energy source, the car can achieve a cruising range of approximately 1,000 km (JC08 test cycle).
