Toyota has said that it will soon begin conducting consumer trails of the i-Road in Tokyo, Japan. We first saw it as a concept at the 2013 Geneva Motorshow and now Toyota is planning to get this three-wheel wonder out on the roads.
There is still a doubt cast on whether or not Toyota will even think about getting the i-Road to a stage of production but now that the news is out, we can expect things to reach a certain conclusion.
The current prototypes haven't moved far away from the concept. Changes have been made to improve visibility, maneuverability and ease-of-use but the i-Road will still feature a distinctive tilting design that promises to combine the "convenience of a motorcycle with the comfort and stability of a car."
Toyota will start testing in Tokyo and plans to wrap it up by June. Toyota says that these tests will gauge the effectiveness of the electric vehicle in everyday situations in urban areas but there still isn't a concrete nod on whether it will see the light of production.
