Toyota India has announced to officially launch the all-new Yaris sedan in India on May 18, 2018. The company has already revealed the prices for the car which start at Rs. 8.75 lakh for the base manual 'J' variant, going up to Rs. 14.07 lakh for the top-end 'VX' CVT trim. Bookings for the Toyota Yaris is already underway for a token amount of Rs. 50,000, deliveries are likely to commence post the car's official launch, on May 18. Upon launch, the Toyota Yaris will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and the Hyundai Verna among others.

The Toyota Yaris is available only in a petrol option as of now and comes with the option of a CVT automatic right from the base model. Powering the car is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that churns out 108 bhp of max power and 140 Nm of peak torque, which comes mated to either a 6-Speed manual gearbox or an optional 7-step CVT automatic gearbox. The manual transmission version is claimed to returns a fuel efficiency of 17.1 kmpl, while the CVT option returns 17.8 kmpl, the latter also comes with paddle shifter.

Visually, the Toyota Yaris essentially looks like a 'Baby Corolla' and borrows several of its older sibling's design and styling cues. The car comes with exterior features like - projector headlamps, LED DRLs and LED guide lights along with large front grille with glossy black slats, coupled by round fog lamps. The door handles gets chrome covers, while the ORVMs get integrated turn signal lights and the Yaris runs on a set of stylish 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the back, the car comes with a pair of large LED tail lamps and rear foglamps. Projector headlamps come standard with the Yaris and so does keyless-entry.

The cabin of the Toyota Yaris is well-appointed and looks truly upmarket with the two-tone treatment accentuated by light beige and black interior and the intuitive console on the dashboard finished in a piano black shade. Other features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control and navigation, automatic climate control, multi-functional steering wheel with controls four audio, telephony, and cruise control function. The car also offers electrically adjustable ORVMs, rain sensing wipers, push-button start function and more.
