Triumph Motorcycles India will be launching the Tiger 1200 on May 24, 2022. The British motorcycle maker's flagship ADV is all set to enter the Indian market and will rival the Ducati Multistrada V4 and BMW R 1250 GS in the segment. The new Tiger 1200 looks promising, has seen a comprehensive upgrade over its predecessor and will arrive in GT and Rally versions appealing to those looking for a proper off-road machine or a mile-muncher. So, what should the pricing be on the new Tiger 1200? Here's what we think.

Prices for Triumph Tiger 1200 are expected to be competitive when compared to rivals, especially with Triumph offering more variants to play with. The new Tiger 1200 range is expected to start from a little over Rs. 19 lakh for the GT Pro variant, going up to Rs. 21.80 lakh for the top-spec Rally Explorer version. This will help the model undercut the Ducati Multistrada V4 which starts from Rs. 19.75 lakh, going up to Rs. 24.15 lakh for the V4 S. Meanwhile, the BMW R 1250 GS commands a premium and is priced at Rs. 20.55 lakh, while the R 1250 GS Adventure is priced at Rs. 22.50 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, India.

The Rs. 19 lakh+ starting price will also help differentiate the model substantially over the Tiger 900 range that's priced between Rs. 13.70 lakh for the GT and Rs. 15.50 lakh for the Rally Pro. All prices are ex-showroom India. Triumph India will be offering a host of accessories on the new Tiger 1200 range and that will drive the final price up further.
There's plenty new on the new-generation Triumph Tiger 1200. This includes a new and lighter lightweight frame with a bolt-on aluminium subframe. The bike also gets plenty of lighter components including a single-sided swingarm and an aluminium fuel tank that make the motorcycle about 25 kg lighter than its predecessor. With respect to equipment, the road-biased Tiger 1200 GT gets 19-inch front and 18-inch rear alloy wheels, while the suspension gets shorter travel. Meanwhile, the Tiger 1200 Rally variants are off-road capable and come with a long-travel suspension setup with a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheels with a cross-spoke design. The GT and Rally Explorer variants get a larger 30-litre fuel tank as opposed to a 20-litre unit on the Pro trims.

Power comes from the heavily updated 1,160 cc, inline-three cylinder, liquid-cooled engine tuned for 148 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. A shaft drive system sends power to the rear wheel. The suspension setup comprises Showa USD forks with a semi-active unit on the off-road versions for more control. Braking performance comes from dual 320 mm discs with top-spec Brembo Stylema callipers at the front and a 282 mm single rotor at the rear.
The Tiger 1200 gets a host of electronic aids including full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display, ABS, traction control, cruise control, blind-spot radar system, and Lane Change Assist feature. Make sure to check out our review of the new Tiger 1200 that goes live tomorrow.
