It seems like Royal Enfield has released test mules of all of its motorcycles out on the road in the same week, as almost all of its anticipated models - except the Bullet 350 - have been spotted testing in India this week. Latest in the list is this, the upcoming Royal Enfield Scram 450. The Scram 450 will be the slightly smaller, more accessible and road-biased version of the off-road focused Himalayan 450, which is expected to make its debut next year. Both models will share the same 450 cc engine, but the Scram 450 is likely to be shorter in height, thanks to lesser travel on the suspension.

Apart from a lower suspension, the test mule spotted was running on smaller alloy wheels instead of large 21 & 19-inch spoked rims of the Himalayan 450, which lowers the bike even further. Interestingly, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 which is currently on sale runs on spoked wheels, and it seems like the Scram 450 may have multiple variants like the Hunter 350, with both alloys & spoked wheels on offer. The motorcycle also gets a single piece seat as opposed to the split seats on the Himalayan 450, and gets the same redesigned LED turn indicators which also double up as tail lights. The Scram 450 could also get an LED headlight in the top variant. The test mule was camouflaged and it is unclear how close to production the model is, but it is possible that Royal Enfield may launch the Scram 450 alongside the Himalayan 450 sometime next year, which will bridge the gap between the 411s and the 650s.
