Volkswagen is building up quite aggressively on its ID range and joining the line-up next will be the all-new Volkswagen ID. Buzz. Herbert Diess, Chairman – Volkswagen Group took to twitter to announce the debut of the ID. Buzz and his tweet read, “The legend returns on 03/09/22!”. The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is not only expected to be an electric van, but also is likely to feature autonomous tech. One of the first five self-driving test vehicles of the fully electric ID. Buzz AD (Autonomous Driving) from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle was showcased on the eve of the IAA Mobility 2021. Argo is actively testing in many urban areas, also in Munich with the ID. Testing of the ID. Buzz AD is happening in collaboration with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles at the Argo AI development centre in Neufahrn, near Munich. Argo also has a nine hectare closed-course near Munich airport to test a variety of traffic situations unique to European driving conditions, in addition to their test track in the United States. With its plans for the development of autonomous driving services, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles shows in the IAA environment how inner-city traffic can be relieved by ridepooling. The brand has set up its own business unit for the development of autonomous driving and has acquired a stake in Argo AI.

Now in terms of looks, we see a mix the typical Volkswagen ID. family design and inspiration taken from the iconic Volkswagen Transporter. The sleek wraparound headlights, sharp alloy wheels and flared wheel arches are very much reminiscent to the ID family while the overall silhouette will remind you of the Volkswagen Transporter. While the official specifications are yet to be announced, when VW showcased the concept van, the company had said that the electric vehicle can offer up to 364 bhp, thanks to a 111 kWh battery and a range of 432 kilometres. The company had said that it will also get an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, which means there will be two electric motors on offer, one for each axle.
