Volkswagen India has announced that it will be increasing the prices of the Polo and Vento models in India in September 2021. Both the Polo hatchback and the Vento sedan will become dearer by up to 3 per cent and 2 per cent respectively, across the range, depending on the variant. Having said that, Volkswagen India has confirmed that the price hike will not be applicable on the GT variant of the Polo carline. The revised prices will come into effect from September 1, 2021.

The Volkswagen Vento is right now priced from ₹ 9.99 lakh, going up to ₹ 14.10 lakh
The German carmaker, in its official statement, does mention that customers who have booked either the Polo or the Vento by August 31, 2021, will be protected from the price increase. Right now, the prices for the Volkswagen Polo start from ₹ 6.27 lakh, going up to ₹ 9.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). And this is excluding the GT variant. The Vento, on the other hand, starts from ₹ 9.99 lakh, going up to ₹ 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The last time Volkswagen India increased the price of the Polo and Vento was in January 2021. While the company hasn't mentioned the reason for the price hike, increasing input costs for raw materials is suspected to be the main reason behind this price hike. At the moment, the carmaker is gearing up to launch the all-new Volkswagen Taigun compact SUV, which will go on sale in India on September 23, 2021.
