The trend of launching virtual cars is catching up and it's Volkswagen now, who has gone ahead and officially unveiled the GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo for the GranTurismo 6 game. The company is expanding its GTI fleet and we'll see this car on the virtual race circuit.
The virtual supercar - GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo - is based on the Golf GTI and acts as a successor to the GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo. It looks aggressive thanks to the body kit and lightweight thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre.
Thanks to the use of lightweight materials the power-to-weight ratio is 2.5 kilograms per horsepower and according to the people at Volkswagen the body surfaces have been optimized for an extremely low center of gravity.
From what we can see, the GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo gets a massive lower radiator grille and then there is a huge splitter in the front bumper. This gives it the aggressive stance and aerodynamics come into play due to the prominent roof spoiler and the rear diffuser.
Under the hood is a VR6 TSI engine with 503bhp on offer. There is also 665Nm of torque available and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. Of course the performance figures are out too and 0-100 km/h is done in 3.6 seconds and top speed stands at 297 km/h. We would love to see the car in the flesh, wouldn't we?
