The Revolt RV 400 is one of the most attractive motorcycles in its class. This is one of the early pioneers of the EV segment in the country.
The Revolt RV 400 offers a striking design which is quite different from its regular counterparts. There is a neat design for the headlamp with its LED daytime running lamp as well. The size is compact and the seating position is also neatly done. The lack of mass may seem quite in-your-face at times through. The seat height stands at 814 mm and it sports a more youthful and contemporary look and feel.
The Revolt RV 400 is fast and responsive and there are riding modes for boosting performance levels and responses alike. This begins from Mode 1 and in the Mode 3, it is quite similar to the Ather 450. It also comfortably touches speeds of 85 kmph and generates 50 Nm of maximum torque at the same time. However, you cannot really expect speed or performance like a Royal Enfield motorcycle for instance. The company can still do some work to reduce noise and vibrations while riding and the opening up of the accelerator should have had a better response. There is abrupt delivery of power across all riding modes and this may hinder cornering at times as well. This could also hinder riding amidst congested traffic.
The Revolt RV 400 has a claimed range of 156 km for Mode 1 with a top speed of 14 kmph. The Mode 2 will ensure 110 km with a top speed of 60 kmph and the Mode 3 will have a top speed of 85 kmph and a range of 80 km.
The Revolt RV 400 offers good ride and handling with its tubular frame and the robust swingarm. The 37 mm USD fork and 17-inch wheels work well to keep the bike stable and planted most of the time. The sporty ride is not without its share of comfort. There is decent rider confidence on most roads and this is one of the biggest plus points, considering that it is light and manageable at 108 kg. The MRF Nylogrips also help in enhancing the fun riding dynamic while there are 240 mm disc brakes for both ends along with CBS. Braking performance is also good enough.
Revolt RV 400 comes with several features including three riding modes and they may be chosen via a right-hand-side slider button. There is also keyless-start where you can use the power button without using the key. The display is also simple and highly functional while the high-beam switch is used for toggling between these modes. There is also an artificial note for the exhaust which may be powered by a dedicated button through a speaker. There is an app for the bike and the bike may be started via the same with an e-SIM installed as well. This is connected to the internet and there is also compatibility via voice commands with Google Assistant. The app can establish geo-fencing barriers and the bike will not function beyond these limits. You can also choose from four sounds of the exhaust while tracking the battery and vehicle data on a real-time basis while ordering a battery as a replacement.
There is a 19kg lithium-ion 3.24 kW battery and the charging time will take 4.5 hours from empty. It will ensure that the battery touches 75%. There is a mid drive 3 kW electric motor that makes 170 Nm and it pairs with this 72V battery.
There is CBS with disc brakes at both ends. There is also the side safety stand.
The battery warranty now stands at 1,00,000 kilometres and six years.
There are several competing models in this category including the Ather 450X and the TVS iQube along with the Ola S1 Pro. These are some of the electric two-wheelers creating a buzz in the market at present.
The Revolt RV 400 does make for an enticing proposition if you think about its overall performance, decent range, design, plethora of tech features, and unique styling. The price point is competitive since you have to subscribe for a certain period without any down payment, rental, or lease. The vehicle ownership will be given to buyers although smaller amounts will have to be paid accordingly. The company also offers a handsome battery warranty, while making EV ownership as easy as possible.
