    The much-polarising Jaguar Type 00 has been the talk of the town ever since the electric concept was first revealed to the world in late 2024 in Miami. A European debut followed, where the car was shown in Paris earlier this year, and now the British car brand has confirmed that the electric GT concept is headed to some other global destinations, including India. The car is currently in Monaco, after which it will make its way to Munich, Tokyo and Mumbai. The model will be showcased in Mumbai on June 14, 2025.

    Audi has taken the wraps off the long-wheelbase iteration of the new-gen A6 e-tron EV at Auto Shanghai 2025.   • Skoda Enyaq iV

    Essentially a sister model to the Volkswagen ID,4, the Enyaq iV is Skoda’s first dedicated battery electric SUV sitting on the VW Group’s MEB EV platform. Unveiled globally in late 2020, the Enyaq is unmistakably Skoda with a design inspired by the company’s range of SUVs. Unlike many modern EVs, the Enyaq looks the part of a regular crossover with a more staid design – a hallmark of recent Skodas – as compared to some other modern offerings. Inside, the Enyaq iV gets tastefully done interiors with a minimal and clutter-free look. The centrepiece is the massive 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system that shares its user interface with other Skoda cars. The new Virtual Cockpit also features on the car. The Enyaq iV is available in a variety of battery and electric motor configurations offering ranges of up to 510 km on a single charge.

    The eKUV100 has been on the cards for India for a while now with Mahindra having showcased the vehicle at the 2020 Auto Expo. Based on Mahindra’s sub-compact KUV100 NXT, the eKUV shares an almost identical design with only the smaller details such as the blue highlights and tweaks to the grille helping it stand out. In terms of specifications, the eKUV uses a 40kW electric motor driving the front wheels offering a range of up to 150 km per charge. Mahindra had at the 2020 Expo announced prices for the model though sales to private buyers has yet to commence.

    • The 2026 Renault Duster was revealed for the Indian market on 26 January, 2026.
    • This SUV was globally launched in March 2025.
    • Ahead of its arrival in the Indian market, we already had an idea of how the production version would be.
    • And the one revealed is not very different.
    • In fact, it carries forward the global design elements with India-spec highlights.
    • Moreover, Renault has confirmed a hybrid powertrain for the Indian market later this year.
    • We can, however, expect all variant-wise pricing to be announced in March 2026.
    • Bookings are open now, deliveries will begin in April, except for the hybrid version that will come in Diwali.

    The new Q3 adopts Audi’s latest design direction with elements borrowed from its larger siblings - the new-gen Q6 and A6. As with other recent new Audi’s the high-set LED daytime running lamps features customisable signatures, while the main headlamps for the first time feature Matrix LED technology.

Launched yesterday, the YU7 SUV is offered in three variants- standard, Pro and Max.

    There was a time when Jeep Grand Wagoneer had raised the bars of the SUV segment in the United States. Various versions of the Wagoneer were manufactured in the US and other nations by Kaiser Motors (1962−1971), American Motors (1971−1987), Chrysler (1987−1993), and Stellantis from 2021. A revival of the Jeep Wagoneer was introduced as a concept version on September 3, 2020, and as the production model on March 11, 2021. Sales begin in the second half of 2021 with 2022 model year versions. Finally, after 30 years Jeep has re-launched the Grand Wagoneer. It now has a larger engine, a standard 4x4 system, standard air suspension, and even more luxury features.

    The VF3 is the smallest SUV on sale from the Vietnamese car maker. At 3190mm, it is longer than a MG Comet. It is a four-seater but only has two doors, just like the Comet. The car has met with surprising success, given its size, thanks to the interesting design. VF3 customers are going for a lot of customisation options – such as colour and decals – making it a hit with youngsters there. Remains to be seen if it attracts an audience with a similar inclination in India.

The teasers also provide a glimpse at a roll cage within the cabin.

    Dacia has finally unveiled the Bigster SUV in the global market. Essentially an extended version of the new Renault Duster, the SUV is based on Renault’s CMF-B platform. As a result, it borrows a lot of styling elements, both inside and outside from the Duster SUV. The Bigster has been unveiled in five-seat form, and not in six or seven-seat configurations. However, it previews the three-row Renault Duster, which is expected to be introduced in India next year and will also spawn a Nissan SUV.

  • New Jeep Compass

    The new Compass will be the sister model to the recently unveiled second-gen Citroen C5 Aircross and is set to go on sale in Europe with a range of electrified powertrains.

A second set of teaser images were released in March this year, revealing some design details, though the SUV has continued to remain under wraps… until now. Now, new leaked images showcase the new second-gen Compass in its final production spec.

    Volvo Cars has teased its latest plug-in-hybrid SUV, the XC70, ahead of its world premiere in the coming months. The new SUV marks the return of the XC70 nameplate after nearly a decade, previously used for a five-door crossover estate that was discontinued in 2016. Built on the company’s Scalable Modular Architecture (SMA) platform, Volvo states the XC70 will be the brand's longest-range plug-in hybrid model to date. Volvo says the XC70 will initially be offered on sale in China, with other markets to follow at a later stage.

    Mercedes-Benz has revealed the all-electric version of its popular GLC SUV at the Munich Motor Show in Germany. Named GLC with EQ Tech, this new model sits on a dedicated EV platform with Mercedes claiming it to be good for up to 713 km on a full charge. While electrified, the SUV has a slightly familiar design language that links it to the rest of the GLC range.

    Volvo has unveiled its first all-electric sedan, the ES90 for the global market. Built on the carmaker’s SPA2 platform, the ES90 is the sixth all-electric model in Volvo’s portfolio after the EX90, EM90, EX40, EC40 and EX30. The carmaker has stated that the ES90 will initially go on sale in European markets in the coming months with other markets to follow.

  • Mahindra BE.07

    A sister model to the BE.05, the BE.07 is expected to be pushed as a family SUV with the model positioned above the BE.05. Going by the concept, the BE.07 drops the more SUV-coupe look of the BE.05 in favour of a more conventional profile with the SUV also being 200 mm longer than the latter. Wheelbase meanwhile is identical in both SUVs. The BE.07 is scheduled to be launched in 2026 and will be 4565 mm in length, 1900 mm in width and 1660 mm in height, and will have the same wheelbase of 2775 mm. The cabin will meanwhile feature seating for up to seven with the SUV likely to be offered with two- and all-wheel drive variants.

  • Fisker Ocean

    The Force E package offers increased torque, power, and electric range for the Fisker Ocean SUV. This package is available for purchase concurrently with the vehicle or as a post-purchase add-on. Initially, it will be accessible for the all-wheel drive Fisker Ocean One and Extreme trims only, while the lower trim Ultra variant will get this package update later, as stated by the brand. 

  • Xiaomi SU7

The Kardian, on the other hand, is 4120 mm long, 2025 mm wide,1596 mm tall and has a 2604 mm wheelbase. The ground clearance is an impressive 209 mm.

    The Nissan Juke is a funky looking crossover-coupe being sold in the overseas markets. The car has been one of the models showcased by Nissan in India. It is unsure how the Indian buyers will react to the Juke’s styling when it arrives. It’s powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong hybrid system. The car will likely feature a 4.2-inch infotainment screen. It also comes with several safety features like cruise control with speed limiter, auto emergency braking, lane-keeping and -changing assistance, hill-start assist and traffic sign recognition. The car is expected to be priced at around 25 lakhs (Avg, ex-showroom).

    Tech upgrades to the RZ include a newer generation steer-by-wire system and simulated gearing that is operable via steering-mounted paddle shifters. Alongside the new Toyota C-HR+ and bZ4X facelift, Toyota's luxury arm Lexus unveiled the updated RZ electric SUV. On the surface, the electric SUV looks to have changed little over the model already on sale, but the new RZ packs in notable upgrades under the skin, including new powertrains and more technology.

    Starting with the powertrains, the outgoing SUV’s 300e and 450e models have been dropped in favour of new 350e and 500e variants, while there is also a new 550e F Sport range topper as well. The battery size has also grown from 71.4 kWh to 76.96 kWh as have the power outputs across the board. The entry 350e now develops 221 bhp - up from 201 bhp. Similarly, the 500e also sees a bump up in power from the 450e’s 313 bhp to 375 bhp. The 550e ups the ante even further with 402 bhp on tap.

    Nissan’s derivative of the upcoming Renault Duster SUV has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time. The C-segment SUV, which is expected to go on sale in 2026, will be an addition to Nissan’s line of locally made products, which currently only includes one model. The company has however, confirmed that the SUV will not be offered with a diesel powertrain, due to falling demand and tightening emissions regulations. While Nissan hasn’t confirmed a name, there is a possibility the company could revive the Terrano nameplate for this model. 

  • Mahindra Thar e

    Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that it will unveil an electric version of its Thar SUV at Cape Town, South Africa on August 15. The SUV will be called the Thar. e as per the teaser put out by the company. While it remains to be seen what Mahindra has in store for us, it is highly likely that this will be a concept vehicle that will take atleast 2 to 3 years to go into production. Earlier, the company had also confirmed that its Global Pik Up Vision Concept will be unveiled on the same date.

  • Kia Syros EV

    The Kia Syros EV has been spotted for the very first time, fully covered in camouflage, at a charging station. Earlier this year, in February, Kia launched the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the Syros in the Indian market. Visually, the electric variant is expected to remain largely unchanged from its ICE counterpart, with the clearest difference being the addition of a charging port located on the front left fender.

The name, first used in the 1960s for a series of cars that helped define BMW’s identity, now returns as the base for its next generation of EVs. The second generation of the all-electric mid-sized luxury SUV will be launched later this year in Germany, with an India launch expected by late 2026.

    Volkswagen's star showcase at this year's IAA Mobility show is an electric SUV concept that provides a look at an upcoming, battery-powered compact SUV. Named the ID.Cross, the latest VW concept is the fourth in a series of concept vehicles Volkswagen has revealed in recent years, which preview its future mass-market electric offerings. The ID.Cross is, from a size standpoint, quite close to the Volkswagen Taigun, and the production model it spawns is expected to be one of Volkswagen's most affordable EVs globally. The ID.Cross has been showcased at IAA 2025 alongside the ID.Polo and ID.Polo GTI, both of which will be revealed in final production form in the first half of 2026.

  • Hyundai Nexo

    Hyundai has unveiled the latest generation of its Nexo SUV fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show. The second-generation Nexo is based on Hyundai’s Initium concept that was unveiled at last year’s LA Auto Show and sports Hyundai’s new ‘Art of Steel’ design language. The powertrain of the new Nexo has been heavily upgraded and now makes higher power figures, while also delivering greater range. Hyundai has stated that the Nexo will initially go on sale in Korea, and will be introduced in other global markets later this year.

  • Genesis GV 60

    At present, Genesis’ passenger vehicles are manufactured in its home country of South Korea, with only the electric derivative of the GV70 SUV being produced in the United States, at Hyundai’s Alabama plant. Depending on its market strategy, Hyundai could choose to import Genesis models as completely-built up (CBU) offerings, or consider local assembly, to ensure competitive pricing against German carmakers.  

  • New Audi A5

    Audi has pulled the wraps off the plug-in hybrid range of the A5 series, and it will now come with the suffix - e-hybrid. Offered in both sedan and Avant (estate) body types, Audi promises better efficiency and more driving range with the new PHEVs. Essentially a successor to the A4 range, the new Audi A5 was showcased some time back, and now we get to see the e-hybrid models.

    Moving forward in its electric journey is Volvo Cars as the Swedish carmaker will reveal its upcoming flagship electric SUV- Volvo EX90 Recharge, on November 9, 2022. With a claim to being the safest car ever built by the company, the Volvo EX90 Recharge electric SUV will be the electric-only version of the Volvo XC90, its current flagship SUV. This means, the Volvo EX90 Recharge electric SUV will ideally be a larger model than the XC90 and will serve as its flagship model. Volvo aims to be a fully electric brand by 2030.

Mahindra now is expected to be working on an all-new XUV 900 Coupe-SUV but this time around based on the new XUV 700. The new SUV is expected to be a product of Mahindra’s new design centre in the UK. The SUV is expected to share some design elements with the XUV 700 with the engine options too expected to be carried over.

It will be rivaling the likes of the Hyundai Creta in India which has been the top-runner of the compact SUV segment for quite some time. 

  • Mahindra BE.05

    Unveiled in concept form last year, the edgy and sporty-looking BE.05 previews a future all-electric concept SUV from Mahindra. Part of an onslaught of new EVs based on the firm’s new INGLO platform, the production BE.05 could retain the sleek and sharp looks of the concept. The cabin too is expected to be in-line with the concept with twin-freestanding displays housed in a singular binnacle sitting atop the dashboard and minimal physical control surfaces. In terms of size at 4370mm long the BE.05 is similar in size to the MG ZS EV and the current crop of compact SUVs. The concept measured in at 1900mm wide and 1635mm tall with the wheelbase stretching to 2775mm.

  • Jeep Avenger

    Jeep has revealed its all-electric Avenger SUV for the European markets. The compact SUV first debuted at the 2022 Paris Motor Show and is the first battery electric vehicle (BEV) by the brand, built on the new e-CMP2 modular electric platform. Jeep is currently going through an electrification phase and plans to launch four electric vehicles by 2025 and feature a fully electric line up by 2030.

  • Toyota bZ4X

    Toyota’s first dedicated battery electric model, the bZ4X is the first in a line of new EVs set to arrive from Toyota in global markets as it finally starts its journey towards all-electric. The bZ moniker standards for beyond zero which is part of its electrification strategy and also its new sub-brand for EVs. In terms of design the bZ4X certainly stands out from other models with its aggressive crossover-inspired looks and contrast-finished flares. The cabin design too is quite unique with a free-standing display for the instrument cluster and a second larger unit sitting atop the centre console. Coming to the powertrain, there is a 71.4 kWh battery which promises around 500 km of range for the front-wheel-drive model and around 460 km of range on the all-wheel-drive model.

  • Mahindra Scorpio X

    Mahindra is testing the third generation of its Scorpio-N-based pickup in India. The company had previously teased the workhorse as the Global Pik-Up concept in August 2023 alongside the all-electric Thar concept. The Scorpio Pik-Up (called the Scorpio Getaway in India) was first launched in India way back in 2007 with the model soldiering on till almost the end of the last decade with only minor updates in the Indian market. Globally, the pick-up truck received more significant updates including comprehensive cosmetic upgrades in line with the Scorpio over the years.

    Renault has unveiled the all-electric 4 Savane 4X4 concept at the Roland-Garros French Open tennis tournament. The concept is essentially a more off-road focused version of the Renault 4 EV hatchback that was revealed a few months ago, and marks the revival of the Savane nameplate. This concept vehicle gets a range of enhancements over the standard version which include a more purpose-built design, and a dual electric motor powertrain.

    Toyota has unveiled the all-new C-HR+, an all-electric SUV that will go on sale in Europe by the end of the year. While sharing its name with the existing Toyota C-HR, the C-HR+ is more closely related to the Toyota bZ4X and sits on the EV-specific e-TNGA platform, packing in a range of all-electric drivetrains. Meanwhile, the C-HR sits on Toyota’s internal combustion TNGA platform, is physically smaller and is offered solely with strong hybrid powertrains.

    In its Investor Day presentation, Hyundai revealed the new MPV will be a ‘family mover’ to offer ‘mobility for all’. There is little detail available on this new MPV for the Indian market, though Hyundai would have two paths to follow - a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6-rivalling MPV likely sharing its platform and powertrains with the Kia Carens. This would mark the safer route into the Indian MPV market with Hyundai already having access to a tested and ready platform, powertrains and tech. Hyundai could look to give its MPV a completely different top hat to differentiate it from its cousin. Hyundai does offer the Stargazer MPV in some Asian markets - based on the Carens platform - though it remains to be seen if this will be considered as the new MPV for India. Inversely, the new MPV for India could go on to become a new generation of the Stargazer for global markets.

    Upcoming electric M3 appears to be smaller in dimensions to the current model. The silhouette of the vehicle is also vastly different from the already-on-sale M3, sporting shorter overhangs, flared fenders, a more uniformly flowing roofline and a longer, more upright boot deck. The fascia borrows a few elements from the Neue Klasse concept, unveiled in September, last year, such as the revised version of the kidney grille. The front end also gets sleek horizontal headlamps. Another visual detail that can be observed are the flush door handles.
    While BMW hasn’t given us a glimpse at the interior, it is safe to expect that it will come with a minimalistic interior layout much like the Neue Klasse concept. Expect very few physical controls to be present, with most of the functions, including the iDrive controller to be integrated into the large central touchscreen.

    India's wait for an accessible, all-electric Honda SUV will come to an end in the next two years. On the first day of the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Honda revealed the 0 α electric SUV prototype, which will go into production in 2027, and will also be launched in India that same year. The 0 α previews the smallest, and most affordable model in Honda's 0 Series EV family, and is initially targeted only at Japan and India. The 0 α, in Honda's words, is being developed as an SUV that blends into both urban and natural environments, and designed to offer ‘outstanding passenger comfort’.

    Tata’s Avinya concept car was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. The car represents Tata’s vision of electric mobility in the future. The car is a futuristic MPV that is built on Tata’s Gen 3 EV architecture. The car is 4300 metres long and has a wheelbase of 2900 mm. The car gets many new features that have never been seen before in Indian cars like cameras in place of mirror stalks, butterfly doors and aroma diffusers. The interior of the car features no screens and passengers will use voice command as the interface. Tata also stated that the car will have a range of 500 km on a 30-minute charge. The car will likely launch in 2026, The price at which this car will be launched is yet to be announced.
