Diesel prices rose for the third consecutive days on Saturday while, petrol prices remained stable for the fourth straight days. Diesel is priced in the national capital region at Rs 66.54 per litre today as the oil marketing companies have increased diesel prices over 50 paise a litre across India in three straight days. Diesel prices hiked by 20 paise a litre in Delhi and Kolkata, while 21 paise per litre in Mumbai and Chennai on Saturday.
Researchers have designed multiplayer games where occupants of autonomous vehicles can play with other players in self-driving cars within near distance. The study, led by researchers from the University of Waterloo in Canada, details three games created for level three and higher semi-autonomous vehicles.

Electric vehicle-maker Tesla is updating some of its supercharger stations to limit the top state of charge (SoC) to 80 per cent at busy stations to reduce wait times. "The limit will be enforced at 8 per cent of the stations 24/7, while the rest will be affected by the limitation at peak hours. Tesla says owners that stop by at an affected station will receive a notification," the Engadget reported on Saturday.

"While we know there has been some speculation about our future plans, 'Car Thing' was developed to help us learn more about how people listen to music and podcasts. San Francisco, Jan 10 (IANS) Tesla will stop selling the lowest-range versions of its Model S sedans and Model X SUVs from Monday, the electric car maker's CEO Elon Musk said. "Starting on Monday, Tesla will no longer be taking orders for the 75 kWh version of the Model S & X," Musk revealed in a tweet on Wednesday, while asking people interested in buying those vehicles to place their orders latest by Sunday. Higher-end versions of the S and X, equipped with a 100 kWh battery, will still be made and sold by Tesla, but at a higher price, CNBC reported, adding that Tesla did not respond to inquires as to why the S and X offerings were pared back.
The Karnataka coalition government increased the state tax on petrol and diesel by 2 per cent with effect from January 1, said an official statement on Saturday. "As the fuel prices declined after fall in crude oil rates in the overseas market since November, the state tax has been revised 2 per cent to 32 per cent on petrol and to 21 per cent on diesel since January 1, 2019," said a statement by the chief minister's office here.

The Union Cabinet was on Monday apprised of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with France that seeks to support the governments ambitious plan for the deployment of electrical vehicles by maximising solar mobility and minimising its grid impact. The MoU was signed in October between the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), India and Commissariat lenergie atomique et aux energies alternatives (CEA) -- French state-owned research entity, and BlueStorage SAS, a French company.

A total of 16,582 Volvos are being recalled in China due to a problem with the software in the Vehicle Connectivity Module (VCM), according to the State Administration for Market Regulation.
