Bentley’s first production SUV, Bentayga is claimed to be the world’s fastest and most powerful SUV featuring a high capacity twin-turbocharged W12 engine. The 6.0 litre engine can pull off towering power of 600bhp along with 900Nm of torque. Mated to an eight-speed automatic ZF transmission, the SUV get a permanent all-wheel drive system. Time taken to hit 100 kmph mark from rest is around 4.1 seconds while propelling to top speed of 301 kmph. With wheelbase measuring close to three meters, cabin offers generous space to occupants and is well kitted with standard provisions including split-folding heated rear 4+1 seats, panoramic tilt/slide sunroof with electric blind, 8 inch infotainment system with 60GB HDD, navigation, voice control, with text-to-speech, AMI, CD, MP3 and SD cards.

The full-sized SUV gets boastful dimensions easily intimidating the rivals. Styling is on par with rest of the Bentleys like the signature matrix grille in front finished in chrome. The rounded head lamps bring up a sense of style to the front profile and not to forget the smaller units next to the head lamps which are actually DRLs. Front end is mostly covered with the matrix styled chrome visible around fog lamps and inlets. An integrated silver skid plate is placed under the lower bumper. One of the most noticeable styling elements on the SUV is the prominent lines on flanks and bonnet which lend character to the exteriors. Wheels are large and in proportion with the large body, most importantly these are placed well, so no awkward gap in between arches. Rear has been given equal attention featuring an integrated spoiler at the top, segmented tail lamps, dual chrome pipes etc.

Cabin has ample space to offer to occupants but what really draws your attention is the use of plush material inside, that said Bentayga gets premium leather and fine grain wood all around.  Seats are comfortable wrapped in fine leather and chrome treated buttons and knobs add to the up-market look of the cabin. There is a large screen placed at the centre of the console and features a number of gizmos, camera etc. The rear bench comes with split seat configuration with built in reclining and massaging functions. Moreover, Bentayga comes with heavy personalization options ranging from equipment to colour schemes and even trims. The dashboard design has been taken from the wings of the Bentley badge, so that’s something new and amusing.

Power is directed to all four wheels through a ZF sourced eight-speed automatic transmission. The SUV also gets new air suspension with adjustable ride height and it also features cylinder deactivation technology which enables to shut 6 cylinders when not required.

The braking system is quite profound and works as good as a locking differential. Bentley’s dynamic ride system offers controlled high-speed cornering and keeps the SUV composed with almost nil body roll. There is also an active anti-roll bar which comes with electric actuaters used for softening and stiffening the front and rear bars.
