Kawasaki Ninja 300 Expert Review

Kawasaki Ninja 300

Starting at 3.37 Lakhs, Kawasaki Ninja 300 features an engine capacity of 296.0cc, a fuel tank capacity of 17.0L, a 6-speed gear, while offering a mileage of 26 km/L. It is available in just one STD petrol variant. It is available in 3 colours: Ebony, Candy Lime Green and Lime Green. One of the most exciting features added to this ride is the world’s smallest ABS unit.

How is the design?

The design and bodywork of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 has been retained from the Kawasaki Ninja series, but a series of significant improvements have been made in this model. A sporty glass has been added to the front along with a high minimalistic tail design. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 features a pair of dual multi-reflector headlamps for riding at night. The signature statement floating windshield of the Ninja can be found in this model as well. To make it look even more fashionable and premium, a sporty digital panel is integrated in the bike. The aluminium foot peg on the bike is an upgrade from the usual rubber foot peg.

How is the performance?

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 received mostly positive reviews from critics and users, especially in the market of India. The bike has gained the reputation of a sports bike considering some of its key tech features and pricing. The local sourcing of the wheels, panels, wiring, brakes and tyres led to reducing the price and cost of the bike. Moreover, the bikes operating in the same segment are higher in price and this boosted the sales of the Kawasaki Ninja 300. More people have shown interest in this model particularly because it is the most ideal intro of the beginners to performance bikes.

How does the Kawasaki Ninja 300 ride?

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is powered by a 296cc liquid-cooled twin-engine that has the capacity to generate a maximum torque of 27Nm and a maximum power of 39 bhp. This Kawasaki bike is docile and calm especially while accelerating and riding at lower rpm. The top speed of this bike is achieved at around 5000rpm and the powerband kick utility is possible above 8000rpm. There are faster motorbikes in the similar segment, but the Kawasaki Ninja 300 comes with precision timing and gear shifts following the inclusion of the 6-speed gearbox and ABS. Great stability while riding the bike is possible with the new MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres.

How comfortable is the Kawasaki Ninja 300?

For all sport bike fanatics, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 is believed to be a competent choice as it comes with great comfort. The foot pegs of the bike are set in a manner so that the rider does not need to concern with the riding position and sitting posture. The handlebars of the bike are positioned in a synchronised manner and this promotes the comfortable and aerodynamic position of the biker’s arms, while ensuring the elbows are stress free. The fuel tank is spacious and positioned in a manner so that it adds to the comfort of the rider, with no stress at the knees. This makes the bike ideal for city commute, highways, and even for long drives.

How's the tech?

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 comes with high-tech features and this makes it an attractive entry-level sport bike in this segment. The 4-stroke, liquid-cooled parallel twin engine comes with a capacity of 17 L fuel tank. A 6-speed transmission is added to the bike along with digital ignition and this is believed to be time saving for the riders. Another tech feature in this bike is anti-lock braking system or the ABS is added with a 37mm telescopic fork suspension at the front. It also comes with a 5-way adjustable rear suspension and a gas-charged shock, adding value to the bike’s tech features. Among other special mention, heat management system, dual throttle valve, fine atomizing injectors must be considered.

How's the mileage of the Kawasaki Ninja 300?

As suggested in the Kawasaki Ninja 300 brochures, the bike comes with a mileage of 26 kmpl, however, under certain road conditions, the bike may not be able to deliver that mileage. As reported by users in a survey, in a usual city condition, the bike is only able to deliver a mileage of 15-20 kmpl. On highways, however, the bike is able to deliver a mileage of 20-25 kmpl, on an average. However, for an entry-level sport bike, it does justice to the mileage and fuel economy as well.

Is the Kawasaki Ninja 300 good value for money?

The BS-VI variant of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 comes with slipper clutch and a standard dual-channel ABS. This is undoubtedly an attractive feature to add on the bike, despite the reduction of price by INR62,000. In this segment, it is one of the most affordable entry-level sports bikes, and therefore, it brings good value to its riders. The brand name and other impressive features of this bike is certainly a strong promoter. The recommendation and feedback from the users are yet another reason why customers should invest in bikes.

How is the after sales service?

Kawasaki bikes do not come with any free servicing and as estimated each service may cost the rider INR5200, on an average. Each 4th service of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 may cost the rider around INR12,000. Thus, it can be said that the Kawasaki Ninja 300 is a high maintenance bike and this is a point riders must consider before deciding to purchase it.

Which motorbikes compete in this segment?

The other bikes competing in the same segment as the Kawasaki Ninja 300 are KTM Duke 390, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, KTM RC 390, Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, KTM 390 Adventure, and so on.

Ninja 300 is the perfect designed motorcycle. There are lot of reasons to buy this one. The ABS is missing. This is a only drawback of this model. Looks are pretty impressive and performance is great with its 296cc engine. But it has not good resell value.
