How is the design?

The KTM 250 Duke looks better in person and the headlamp and bodywork contribute towards scaling up its appeal greatly. The bike is smaller and lighter in its latest iteration, while coming with sharp body edges and a more premium look. The engine offers better refinement and higher torque than the earlier version and is silent mostly between 4,000-8,000 RPM. This ensures higher smoothness overall for the ride. The bike revs smoothly till the red line and power delivery is also smooth enough. This engine can also maintain speeds and can be pushed without feeling out of breath. The bike can take bumps and potholes better this time and it retains control over various surfaces as well. Ride and handling have considerably improved while the MRF tyres do a good job although grip levels could have been better as well. The motorcycle also feels responsive overall and its cornering abilities are also great. The bike comes with good braking and the 300mm disc in front comes from the KTM 200 Duke. However, brake force access is not always easy to come by.

How comfortable is the KTM 250 Duke?

The KTM 250 Duke offers reasonable comfort levels while riding. The bike offers a good seating position and the ergonomics are otherwise quite decent.

Tech

The KTM 250 Duke comes with a digital instrument cluster with daytime running lights, a speedometer, tachometer, stand alarm, fuel gauge, digital trip meter, low oil or fuel indicator, and electric start.

How’s the mileage?

Does the KTM 250 Duke offer good value for money?

The KTM 250 Duke offers decent value for buyers in the segment. It comes with great performance, a smooth and responsive engine and good features as well. The motorcycle is one of the best options at this price point and carries immense brand value at the same time.

How is the after sales service?

The service intervals for the KTM 250 Duke are 1,000 kilometres, 5,000 kilometres, and 9,500 kilometres.

Which motorbikes compete in this segment?

All You Need to Know About the 250 Duke

The 2022 KTM 250 Duke has been spotted testing overseas. The good news is that the bike has received a massive update in styling and mechanicals. It looks meaner and sharper than ever before and gets a new composite subframe and a redesigned swingarm. There is a lot more to the 250 Duke than meets the eye; head here to learn more about it.

The new KTM 250 Duke is powered by a 248.8cc engine with a six-speed transmission. The fuel-injected mill has a maximum power output of 30.8 bhp and a maximum torque of 24 Nm. The liquid-cooled engine works in tandem with fuel injection technology to provide a smooth throttle response and power delivery. The slipper clutch is included as standard.

The overall body dimensions of the KTM 250 Duke are 2026mm x 836mm x 1267mm (LxWxH), giving it a good on-road presence. The bike has a 1357mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 185mm. The 2017 KTM 250 Duke has an 830mm seat height. The new 250 Duke features a 13.4 litre gasoline tank and a 149 kg overall weight.

The new KTM 250 Duke is built on a tubular split frame and features inverted forks in the front and a mono-shock absorber in the back for suspension. Braking power is provided by a 320mm disc brake upfront and a 230mm disc brake at the rear. Unfortunately, ABS isn't even available as an option. The 250 Duke is equipped with MRF tyres in the front and back, mounted on attractive alloy wheels.

The 2017 KTM 250 Duke has a design similar to the next-generation 390 Duke, which is inspired by the top-of-the-line 1290 Super Duke, with the same tank extensions and aggressive lines along the bike's length.

The 2017 KTM 250 Duke will get an LED headlamp component for greater night time visibility. Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are also installed in the headlight portion, circumferential, and adds to the motorcycle's overall appeal in the dark.

The full digital instrumentation for the 2017 KTM 250 Duke will be based on the equipment used on the younger 200 Duke. Additionally, the bike is equipped with two disc brakes, which may or may not be coupled to an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

In comparison to the Duke 200, it's a whole new product with a distinct style. Everything is different from the 200 Duke, including the headlamp, the fang-like DRLs, the exhaust, tail lamp, sub-frame, foot pegs, seats, tail section, front fender, and so forth.

This engine is a brand new unit, as evidenced by a completely new engine shell. However, don't mistake this for a re-bored version of the 200. We expect it to have advantages in terms of refinement and performance because it is a new engine. We'll give you an update on the new bike as soon as we get a chance to ride it.
