The car comes with some considerable cosmetic upgrades along with revised exterior features and cabin. On the outside, the most prominent change in the car is the new headlamps which as mentioned before, features Mercedes-Benz's latest rendition of the signature Multibeam lights along with new sharper daytime running lights (DRLs). The new twin DRLs double up as front turn indicators which add a smart touch to the latest design. The front grille remains unchanged, but the front bumper looks a bit new with redesigned air intakes.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class New DRLs
The revised side profile of the car comes with restyled ORVMs with turn lights, new multi-spoke alloy wheels and a chrome strip along the lower end of the car. The rear profile of the car remains completely unchanged. As for its cabin, Mercedes is expected to offer a more modern and stylish interior. The changes will include a sportier multi-functional steering wheel with a three-spoke design that will replace the current retro-styled two-spoke wheel, redesigned upholstery, and new seat covers.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class Rear Section
While there is indication whether we'll see any major changes in powertrain options, the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is expected to get the 340bhp, six-cylinder diesel engine in addition to existing engines. The engines might also receive some tuning to improve emission and fuel efficiency but nothing is concrete yet. The new S-Class sedan will be showcased at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with the launch later somewhere around mid-year.
