Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the BMW M GmbH, BMW India launched an exclusive ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ of the X7 40i M Sport in India at Rs. 1.20 crore (ex-showroom), available in a single petrol version. The BMW X7 40i M Sport ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ will be locally produced at the BMW Group plant in Chennai and is part of the 10 ‘50 Jahre M Editions’ that the company will launch this fiscal to celebrate the M sub-brand in the country. The new BMW X7 40i M Sport ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ will feature special M-specific styling elements over and above the features offered on BMW X7 M50d.

In terms of design, the BMW X7 40i M Sport ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ will feature the signature large kidney grille in black high gloss at the front, while the M Emblem sits on top of it adding a touch of exclusivity. The M emblem also adorns the front and rear logo as well as the wheel hub caps while the BMW Laser Light technology with blue X-shaped elements makes a distinctive visual treat on the headlamps. Other visual treats include an imposing silhouette, while the large windows and elongated roofline characterise the athletic profile. At the rear, the BMW X7 40i M Sport ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ receives slim LED lights and a two-section split tailgate of the rear. Apart from this, the BMW X7 40i M Sport ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ features 2-axle air suspension, BMW xDrive, M Sport brake calipers, and 21-inch Jet Black alloy wheels. The car is available in two exclusive paint schemes- Mineral White and Carbon Black. BMW also offers an optional M Accessories Package that includes M Performance Steering Wheel in an Alcantara Option, Mirror caps, and key fob in Alcantara to name a few.
The wheel hub caps receive the special M emblem.

Inside, the BMW X7 40i M Sport ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ features M Seat belts, M Leather steering wheel, seat heating with lumbar support, electrical seat adjustment with memory function, and automatic anti-dazzle function in all mirrors adding a sporty touch to the cabin. Moreover, the M Package also adds an optional six-seat configuration including two captain-style swats for the second row as well as automatic air conditioning with five-zone control. The panoramic sunroof is standard, while operational features are crafted in glass that embellish the insert of the gear selector, the iDrive control wheel, the audio control button, and the start/stop button.

A 12.3-inch digital instrument display behind the steering wheel, a 12.3-inch Control Display, BMW Gesture Control, BMW Display Key, Wireless Charging, and Wireless Apple CarPlay, are a few of the features standard on the BMW X7 40i M Sport ‘50 Jahre M Edition’. A suite of driver assistance systems is also part of the M package, which includes Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View Camera and Reversing Assistant. Six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer, and crash sensor are all part of the safety package.
The car is available in two exclusive paint schemes- Mineral White and Carbon Black.

Power in the BMW X7 40i M Sport ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ comes from 3.0-litre six-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that churns out 340 bhp and maximum torque of 450 Nm at 1,500 – 5,200 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 -100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds. The engine is paired to an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, that can be toggled between Efficient, Sport, and Sport Plus while selecting the Comfort, Sport, or Sport Plus chassis setting.
