Electric two-wheeler mobility platform, eBikeGo, has announced entering a partnership with battery technology start-up, Log9 Materials for Superfast charging technology. Dubbed as InstaCharge, the new charging tech will be used for eBikeGo's upcoming electric trike or tricycle, the Velocipedo. Log9 Materials claims that with InstaCharge, the Velocipedo can be charged in just 10 minutes, allowing it to set a new benchmark in the EV space. The two companies have entered into a long-term partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Talking about the partnership, Irfan Khan, Founder and CEO, eBikeGo said, “This strategic partnership with Log9 Materials will also help us strengthen our expansion and enable us to scale across India and the world. Together, eBikeGo and Log9 Materials hope to push to transform the electric vehicle segment and logistics ecosystem of the nation towards a more responsible and sustainable model”
Velocipedo is a European designed, smart electric trike, equipped with two front wheels and one rear wheel, a carbon fibre roof and it can seat two people. eBikeGo says that the Velocipedo combines the comfort and safety of a car with the quickness of a motorcycle. The company believes that this concept of a three-wheeled, electric, networked vehicle can revolutionise urban travel. Plus, with Log9's superfast InstaCharge technology the EV will have multiple use cases like - ride-hailing, personal mobility, and as a cargo vehicle for businesses.

The company says that Log9 has used its core competency in material science to provide improved energy storage solutions ranging from electrode materials to pack level. The charging tech can be adopted for the 2W and 3W electric vehicle platforms, while the Aluminium Fuel Cell technology is aimed at electrifying long-distance, heavier vehicles.
As for the upcoming Velocipedo, the electric trike will be offered for both passenger and cargo segments. The former can accommodate two people and will have a top speed of 95 kmph and a range of 100 km on a single charge. The cargo version on the other hand, which only has room for the rider, will come with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 155 kg and a payload capacity of 100 kg. With the superfast technology developed by Log9 Materials, the Velocipedo will take only 10 minutes, on a 220V outlet, to get fully charged. The vehicle also supports regenerative braking, which can add 10-20 per cent to the range. Production of the Velocipedo will begin by the starting of 2023.
