We first saw the Nexon as a concept at the Auto Expo 2016 and back then Tata Motors said that there'll be a production version that will come up soon enough. Considering that we've spied it testing quite a few times, the Nexon is one of the most awaited of launches from the Tata stable. At Geneva, Tata Motors has revealed the production version of the sub-compact SUV that will make it to India this year and it's quite the looker. Check the Live Updates on Geneva Motor Show 2017.
Tata Nexon front
The Nexon Geneva Edition makes use of Tata Motors' IMPACT design language which is why you see the sporty and dynamic design of the car. According to the folks at Tata Motors, 'the Nexon sports aerodynamically designed front pillars and a rear spoiler that provides a large windshield area for all-round visibility.'

The front fascia boasts of a chrome 'Humanity Line' on the upper grille with projector lamps as well as LED DRLs. The tail lamps too are LED and the floating roof adds to the overall aesthetics of the car.
The Nexon will be the first sub-compact SUV from Tata Motors
From what we can notice, Tata has gone for the dual-tone colour scheme as far as the Nexon is concerned and we've seen this even at the 2016 Auto Expo. However, Maruti Suzuki has found success with this dual-tone paint scheme not only on the Vitara Brezza but also on the Ignis and so it doesn't come as a surprise that Tata Motors too is going in this direction with the production version.

The lovely looking 17" alloy wheels enhance the stance of the Nexon even further and the roof rails don't look out of place. The cabin too has been worked on to enhance the experience of the occupants. The use of premium materials and surface texture gives an upmarket feel to the car. Adding convenience to its occupants are the bottle and cup holders, multiple utility spaces, handbag hangers, laptop & iPad trays thus showing that Tata Motors is in with the age. There's also automatic climate control with rear AC vents.
Tata Nexon Cabin
On the safety front, the Tata Nexon is equipped with front dual airbags, ABS with EBD with Corner Stability Control. There's also the ISOFIX at the rear outboard and a rear-view camera interface with an inbuilt touchscreen infotainment system.
As far as engines are concerned, the Nexon will receive a 1.5 litre Revotorq diesel engine. Now, none of the cars on sale in India come with this engine and Nexon will be the first and so we expect it to be both powerful and fuel efficient. There's a 6-speed manual transmission on offer and according the the folks at Tata Motors, the NVH level on the car has been worked on for a 'class-leading' experience. There's no word of a petrol engine on the car yet.
There are a whole bunch of features on the Nexon provided by Tata Motors and these include an advanced infotainment system, featuring a dash-top touchscreen exclusively designed by Harman, a comprehensive speaker system for surround sound effect and intelligent features such as voice command recognition. It also comes with next-gen connectivity with a host of smartphone applications.
We don't yet know when the Nexon will make its debut in India. However, it'll be in this year and sometime before Diwali. As far as the price of the car is concerned, the Nexon will probably undercut its rivals; a strategy that paid dividends with the Tiago and hence we expect it to start just below Rs. 7 lakh and go right up to Rs. 9 lakh. Besides the Nexon, Tata Motors also revealed the new sub-compact sedan Tigor as also the first product from the Tamo brand - Racemo at the Geneva Motor Show.
