Hyundai Venue N Line vs Hyundai Venue: What’s Different
Key Highlights
  • Venue N Line gets revised exterior styling compared to the standard Venue
  • Gets an all-black cabin as against the standard Venue's dual-tone finish
  • Venue N Line gets stiffer suspension and retuned steering over the standard Venue

Hyundai has launched the new Venue N Line in India. Positioned above the standard Venue, the N Line offers a more involving driving experience with cosmetic and mechanical updates to make it look and feel sportier. We take a look at how it is different to the standard Venue.

Design

Starting from the front, the Venue N Line gets a revised parametric grille design. The jewel-like elements are smaller and sit in four rows with more prominent openings in-between. The grille also appears wider than on the standard venue with the jewel-like elements also incorporated into what was the side frame of the grille on the standard Venue. Lower down, the bumper too is redesigned with new with a new split design faux skid plate-like element, red trimming and redesigned vents.

Hyundai Venue Venue N Line

Round the sides, the Venue N Line sits on variant unique alloy wheels with more red highlights visible in the side cladding, roof rail and front disc brake callipers. There is a more prominent roof-mounted spoiler too.

Round the back, the rear bumper too has been redesigned. It also features the split skid plate design element, red trimming and a visible dual-tip exhaust – the exhaust is hidden on the standard Venue.

Interior

Open the doors and you will be greeted by an all-black cabin with contrasting red inserts in the Venue N Line. The standard subcompact SUV meanwhile gets a dual-tone black and griege cabin post the facelift. The dashboard design is identical in both models though the standard Venue’s D Cut steering – also seen on the Creta – makes way for a three-spoke unit with N Line badging.

Features

In terms of equipment, the Venue N Line N6 and N8 trims share much of the equipment from the Venue SX and SX(O) though there are some differences. The N Line gets leather upholstery as standard while only the Venue SX(O) gets leather and fabric upholstery on the seats.

Interestingly the Venue N Line N6 gets an equipment list in line with the diesel Venue SX so it misses out on bits such as the Blue Link equipped 8.0-inch HD touchscreen, Google and Alexa home to car functions, OTA updates, ambient nature sounds and a burglar alarm – features you get on the petrol Venue SX. The N6 also misses out on split-folding and two-step recline rear seat backrest available on the Venue SX. The N6 however gets drive modes and paddle shifters which aren’t offered on the Venue SX which doesn’t get the option of the turbo-petrol engine.

Venue N Line Dash Cam

A key addition however is the dash cam with dual cameras – one facing out and one facing the cabin occupants.

Interestingly the Venue N Line seems to miss out on an air purifier offered on the fully-loaded standard Venue.

Engine, Gearbox, Suspension

Hyundai has given the Venue N Line a number of updates under the skin as compared to the standard Venue. The brakes have been upgraded to discs all around from a disc and drum set-up while the exhaust too is new and unique to the Venue N Line.

Venue N Line mechanical updates

The N Line also gets a stiffer suspension set-up along with a retuned steering claimed to make the SUV more involving to drive over the standard model.

Coming to the engine, Hyundai hasn’t changed much on paper with the 118 bhp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol carried over from the standard Venue. Unlike the standard Venue though, the N Line is only available with a DCT gearbox with the iMT option not available.
