The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is the most affordable Kawasaki on sale in India, and offers an entry point into the Kawasaki Ninja family. The 296 cc, parallel-twin engine has been updated to meet the BS6 regulations, but retains the same output as before. The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 also retains the same design, bodywork and features, but gets a price hike in its updated BS6 avataar. Aesthetically, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 is exactly the same as the old version. You do get three colours with new decals inspired by Kawasaki's bigger bikes in the Ninja line-up. The new colour options include Lime Green, Candy Lime Green and Ebony. The good thing is that the Ninja 300 sports an ageless design, which still makes it a head-turner despite being nearly a decade old now. The Ninja 300 BS6 could've seen some tasteful upgrades, especially considering the premium of Rs. 20,000 over the BS4 version. But there are practical upgrades, like the lower seat height, which is now 5 mm lower at 785 mm, and more ground clearance, which has been increased by 5 mm to 140 mm.
The 2021 Ninja 300 will continue to use the 296 cc parallel-twin motor upgraded to meet the new emission norms. So, the engine is cleaner and meets the latest BS6 emission norms, but output is the same at 38.4 bhp and 27 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and gets an assist and slipper clutch.
The 2021 Ninja 300 BS6 does not get styling changes and also carries forward the same cycle parts as before.The bike sports the same diamond type steel frame, and uses 37 mm telescopic front forks, and a five-step adjustable rear monoshock suspension. The Endurance-sourced brakes have also been carried over from the older model with dual-channel ABS. The semi-digital instrument console remains unchanged too on the BS6 version. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels that are wrapped in MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres.
The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 is priced at Rs. 3.18 lakh (Ex-showroom), which is a sharp hike from the previous generation model.
