The Mantis electric motorcycle is the first product from Orxa Energies, a performance electric vehicle and energy systems start-up based out of Bengaluru. The naked electric sportbike will have a claimed top speed of over 140 kmph and a claimed range of 200 km on a single charge. The Mantis will be unveiled at the India Bike Week on December 6-7, 2019, and will come with a sophisticated fully digital dashboard and a dedicated mobile app for ride analytics, diagnostics and preventive maintenance. Orxa energies will begin commercial sales of the Mantis electric motorcycle by the middle of 2020.
More than 100 riders participated at the performance preview of the Mantis electric motorcycle
On November 10, Orxa Energies organised an exclusive performance preview of an advanced prototype of the Mantis at the Aruani Grid on the outskirts of Bengaluru. More than 100 professional, semi-professional and regular riders had a test of a brief first ride around the technical track. So far, Orxa Energies has not disclosed the specifications of the Mantis electric bike, and full photos of the finished bike have not been shown as well. The complete look of the bike was intentionally kept incomplete at the performance preview. More details, including the features and full specifications will be revealed at the India Bike Week in Goa on December 6-7, 2019.

Orxa Energies was founded in 2015, as a funded start-up by founders Prajwal Sabnis and Ranjita Ravi. Sabnis is a Ph.D. in Material Mechanics from Mines Paris Tech, Paris, France and MS in Computational Mechanics from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. He has over 7 years of experience in simulations, R&D, Computational Mechanics and the aerospace industry. He directs overall strategy, developmental work and partnerships at Orxa. Ranjita Ravi is a full-scholarship MBA from ESSEC Business School, Paris and has more than 10 years of diverse experience. At Orxa, Ravi works on business development, investor relations and setting up in-house processes.
