The Maserati Levante Trofeo made its global debut at the New York Auto Show in 2018 and was scheduled to make its way to India in December this year. However, carandbike can now confirm that the performance SUV will now make its way to the Indian market only in the first half of 2020. The Maserati Levante Trofeo is the more aggressive version of the Levante that is already on sale in India, making it one of the fastest SUVs in the world along the lines of the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga and the new Aston Martin DBX. The first model will arrive in India by January next year.

It gets a 3.7-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol motor that develops 590 bhp and 730 Nm of peak torque.
The Maserati Levante Trofeo boasts of some impressive numbers with power coming from the 3.7-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol motor that develops 590 bhp and 730 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 300 kmph. The Levante Trofeo comes with a Corsa driving mode that adds launch control and offers 50:50 weight distribution on the SUV.

Bringing in all the sporty intent on the SUV are a number of cosmetic changes including the carbon fibre inserts to the rear and side skirts, as well as a revised grille, functional bonnet vents and LED headlamps. The front and rear bumpers get subtle revision too. The Levante Trofeo rides on larger 22-inch forged aluminium alloy wheels that are lighter than the older model.

The Maserati Levante Trofeo sports changes to the cabin as well including the new red, black and tan 'Pieno Fiore' natural leather seats with the 'Trofeo' badging. The carbon fibre treatment has been extended to the cabin with a number of inserts including the paddle-shifters for the ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission. There are subtle changes to the instrument cluster and the gear lever. Other features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 1280 watt 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system and more.

The Maserati Levante Trofeo is built at the Italian automaker's Mirafiori plant in Turin, and will come to India as a CBU. The performance SUV is expected to carry a price tag in the vicinity of Rs. 2.2-2.5 crore (ex-showroom) and will be sold alongside the standard diesel version that is currently on sale.
