The new-generation Chevrolet Beat has been spotted testing in India for the first time without any camouflage. The car was seen undergoing testing in Pune, which is near the company's manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Maharashtra. The new Chevrolet Beat was seen in a new copper brown/gold exterior colour, which is currently quite popular among car manufacturers in India as we have seen similar colour options for the Tata Tiago, Honda WR-V and Hyundai Grand i10 as well. The new Chevrolet Beat will be launched in India later this year and will go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and new-gen Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Mahindra KUV100.
Now, the new Chevrolet Beat will be the first product to be launched in India by General Motors after the Trailblazer, which was almost 2 years ago. Up until now, Chevrolet has been focusing majorly on exports and also the development of the new-gen Beat and its all-new subcompact sedan Essentia, which was also seen undergoing testing in India a few weeks back along with the new Beat.
New-Gen Chevrolet Beat comes with a new face
We first saw the new-gen Chevrolet Beat in its concept form as the Beat Activ at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Since then a lot has been revealed about the car, especially after the European model, called as the Chevrolet Spark there was revealed at the Paris Motor Show last year. That said the India-spec model will not be the same as you can see from the spy images. Up front, the new Beat gets a completely redesigned face and the aggressive look of the outgoing model has been toned down a little.

The Beat still gets Chevrolet's signature two-part grille with chrome details and are flanked by large sweptback headlamps. The front bumper is also all new with some nice sculpted lines and a C-shaped design element around the round foglamps that goes ahead and connects with the sharp bumper lip. From the sides, the car looks quite similar to the current-gen Beat but there is a considerable amount of change and the car gets new alloys as well. The rear portion of the car is not visible in these images but we do expect to see some cosmetic updates there too. The cabin will also be updated and the car might get new features like a new dashboard, touchscreen infotainment system, dual tone interior and more.

Under the hood, the India-bound model is expected to remain unchanged, powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.0-litre diesel motor. While a 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard, folks at General Motors might just decide to include an automatic variant as well.
