Spectre, James Bond's 24th adventure, is all set for release in India on November 20, 2015 and the cars used in the film have got as much attention as the super spy himself. Spectre has Ian Fleming’s lead character driving an Aston Martin DB10 while the villainous henchman ‘Mr Hinx’ uses the awesome Jaguar C-X75. Add the Rolls Royce Wraith, a buffed up Land Rover Defender Bigfoot, a Range Rover Sport SVR, and a few others into the mix and you get an automotive feast.

With Bond films always having their fair share of fancy cars, we pick out the top 5 over the years:
1962 Sunbeam Alpine
The Sunbeam Alpine in Dr No is a favourite with James Bond aficionados. And it’s definitely not because of its 80bhp 1.6-litre engine. While manufacturers provided free cars in exchange for screen time in later films, Dr No’s producers had to borrow the Alpine from a Jamaican resident. There were very few sports cars on the island and the producers had to make do with the Sunbeam Alpine. The first Bond film had a budget of less than 1 million pounds, so there was no gadget-laden Q Branch special for Sean Connery.

1976 Lotus Esprit S1
As seen in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me, the Lotus Esprit served double duty as a road-going sports coupe and a submarine. Roger Moore’s 007 takes the Esprit for a swim to spy on the villain’s underwater facilities. If that wasn’t enough, the Lotus - powered by a 140 horsepower 2.0-litre engine - was also equipped with anti-aircraft missiles. In fact, the cinematic version of the sports car earned the nickname ‘Wet Nellie’ for its skills underwater.
1967 Toyota 2000GT
The Toyota 2000GT which featured in You Only Live Twice was produced in extremely low numbers - 351 to be exact - from 1967 to 1970, and is regarded as Japan’s first supercar. Dubbed the 'Japanese E-Type', the 2.0-litre Toyota 2000GT is considered one of the Japanese carmaker’s best sports cars. The first two 2000GTs to be used in the film were coupes, in white, one right-hand drive and other left-hand drive. But it became apparent that Sean Connery was too tall to comfortably fit in the car and filming of the interior shots proved tricky. As a result, Toyota created two open-top 2000GT roadsters, to ensure the film crew could capture all the shots they needed. These were the only open-top 2000GT ever officially produced.

2015 Jaguar C-X75
The Jaguar C-X75, driven by the aforementioned Mr Hinx in Spectre, can give any supercar a run for its money, with quite a few fans preferring it over Daniel Craig’s Aston Martin DB10. The C-X75 produces a massive 850hp power using a 1.6-litre turbo and supercharged four-cylinder engine paired with an electric drive system. With mean looks to boot, this car is just plain ‘scary’. Sadly though, Jaguar has said that the C-X75 won't see the light of production, but we sincerely hope they change their mind.

1963 Aston Martin DB5
Last, but definitely not the least. The Aston Martin DB5 is probably the most iconic movie car of all time. And why not? It’s got fantastic looks, oozes class, uses a powerful 282bhp 4.0-liter engine, and is also full of nifty gadgets. Seen in 6 James Bond films, from Goldfinger to Skyfall, the Aston Martin DB5 is a legend in its own right.
