This Is How the Odd-Even Formula Will Work For Delhi
It was already announced that the odd-even formula will be enforced from January 1, 2016 for a trial period of 15 days but today there were a bunch of clarifications that were made by the Delhi CM who spoke about how the formula will be implemented.
The past two months have been all about the pollution levels rising in India's capital city Delhi and the concern over it becoming worse has made it necessary to take drastic measures to curb the problem to an extent. Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, announced that Odd-Even formula will be implemented from January 1 2016 on cars to ply in and to the capital city.
Considering that the World Health Organisation said last year that 13 of the world's 20 most polluted cities were in India, with New Delhi the worst, the odd-even formula is just a baby step towards making a difference.

He said that a formal notification for the Odd-Even Formula will be out on Monday. But here are some points that will give you a clarity on how it will work.
1) The rule will apply from January 1 to 15, 2016 2) Odd number cars are to ply on odd dates, even numbered cars on even dates. 3) The Rule will apply from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm 4) Rs. 2000 fine will be imposed on people who will break the rule 5) Exemption will be given to vehicles like ambulances, fire engines and those belonging to hospitals, prisons, hearses and enforcement vehicles 6) Other vehicles exempt will be those of the President, Vice President, PM, Speaker of Lok Sabha, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, Governors of states/ Lt Governor, Chief Justice of India, Union Ministers Leaders of Opposition in RS & LS, CM of States except Delhi, judges of SC & HC, Lokayukta 7) Two-wheelers exempt from this rule for the time being 8) Women driving alone or with children aged 12 and below will also be exempted from this rule 9) Chief Minister's car not exempted from the odd-even formula 10) If the public transport is able to bear the pressure, and if the formula works, then a decision will be taken to follow or not.
